Client care in long-term social care and social rehabilitation institutions during the Covid-19 pandemic

2022

Bakalaura darba aktualitātе ir saistīta ar kliеntu aprūpi ilgstošas sociālās aprūpеs un sociālās rehabilitācijas institūcijā Covid-19 pandēmijas laikā. Pēc darba autorеs domām, ir vеikti pārāk maz pētījumi par to, kā māsas un pacientus ir iеtekmējusi pandēmija. Rеzultātā viņi saskaras ar vairākām problēmām: nеsavlaicīga pakalpojumu saņеmšana vai nеsniegta aprūpе sociālo darbiniеku noslodzеs dēļ, informētības un zināšanu trūkums u.c. Sociāliе darbiniеki un māsas ilgstošas sociālās aprūpes iestādēs saskaras ar citāda vеida problēmām: sociālo darbiniеku zināšanu un informētības, individuālo aizsardzības līdzеkļu trūkums, vadlīniju nepiеtiekamība, preventīvo metožu nepietiekamība, augsts saslim…

Mutation spectrum of NF1 gene in Italian patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 using Ion Torrent PGM™ platform

2017

Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is caused by mutations of the NF1 gene and is one of the most common human autosomal dominant disorders. The patient shows different signs on the skin and other organs from early childhood. The best known are six or more café au lait spots, axillary or inguinal freckling, increased risk of developing benign nerve sheath tumours and plexiform neurofibromas. Mutation detection is complex, due to the large gene size, the large variety of mutations and the presence of pseudogenes. Using Ion Torrent PGM™ Platform, 73 mutations were identified in 79 NF1 Italian patients, 51% of which turned out to be novel mutations. Pathogenic status of each variant was classifi…

Comparing Long-Acting Antipsychotic Discontinuation Rates Under Ordinary Clinical Circumstances: A Survival Analysis from an Observational, Pragmatic…

2021

Background Recent guidelines suggested a wider use of long-acting injectable antipsychotics (LAI) than previously, but naturalistic data on the consequences of LAI use in terms of discontinuation rates and associated factors are still sparse, making it hard for clinicians to be informed on plausible treatment courses. Objective Our objective was to assess, under real-world clinical circumstances, LAI discontinuation rates over a period of 12 months after a first prescription, reasons for discontinuation, and associated factors. Methods The STAR Network ‘Depot Study’ was a naturalistic, multicentre, observational prospective study that enrolled subjects initiating a LAI without restrictions …

Formulation, process conditions, and biological evaluation of dairy mixed gels containing fava bean and milk proteins: Effect on protein retention in…

2019

International audience; Food formulation and process conditions can indirectly influence AA digestibility and bioavailability. Here we investigated the effects of formulation and process conditions used in the manufacture of novel blended dairy gels (called "mixed gels" here) containing fava bean (Vicia faba) globular proteins on both protein composition and metabolism when given to young rats. Three mixed dairy gels containing casein micelles and fava bean proteins were produced either by chemical acidification (A) with glucono-δ-lactone (GDL) or by lactic acid fermentation. Fermented gels containing casein and fava bean proteins were produced without (F) or with (FW) whey proteins. The AA…

Whey proteins are more efficient than casein in the recovery of muscle functional properties following a casting induced muscle atrophy.

2013

International audience; The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of whey supplementation, as compared to the standard casein diet, on the recovery of muscle functional properties after a casting-induced immobilization period. After an initial (I0) evaluation of the contractile properties of the plantarflexors (isometric torque-frequency relationship, concentric power-velocity relationship and a fatigability test), the ankle of 20 male adult rats was immobilized by casting for 8 days. During this period, rats were fed a standard diet with 13% of casein (CAS). After cast removal, rats received either the same diet or a diet with 13% of whey proteins (WHEY). A control group (n =…

Reāllaika laikrindu analīze prognozēšanai un anomāliju detektēšanai

2021

Brief an Garlieb H. Merkel

1799

Ms. 930a, Nr. 18, Bl. 45r-46v Justus C. Loder. Brief an GarliebH. Merkel, Jena, den 19. Jul[i] 1799 Autora rokraksts / Autograph, vācuval. / Deutsch [2] lpp.

The Escherichia coli Envelope Stress Sensor CpxA Responds to Changes in Lipid Bilayer Properties

2015

The Cpx stress response system is induced by various environmental and cellular stimuli. It is also activated in Escherichia coli strains lacking the major phospholipid, phosphatidylethanolamine (PE). However, it is not known whether CpxA directly senses changes in the lipid bilayer or the presence of misfolded proteins due to the lack of PE in their membranes. To address this question, we used an in vitro reconstitution system and vesicles with different lipid compositions to track modulations in the activity of CpxA in different lipid bilayers. Moreover, the Cpx response was validated in vivo by monitoring expression of a PcpxP-gfp reporter in lipid-engineered strains of E. coli. Our comb…

Il rigo musicale in fondo alla 'Bataille d'Annezin' e i dispositivi di chiusura della lassa epica

2015

The discovery, made by E. Langlois in 1910, of a notated musical staff at the end of a little-known parodic laisse probably written within the 13th century by an otherwise unknown Thomas de Bailleul (MS London, BL, Royal 20 A XVII) immediately raised the interest of medieval musicologists, who have debated its function and interpretation until recent times, whereas romance philologists haven’t payed due attention to this intriguing and unique musical evidence, undoubtedly related to an Old French chanson de geste. In this paper I shall defend G. Schläger’s forgotten hypothesis that the musical staff could well represent a vocal-ized ‘short line’ (petit vers), arguing that this question shou…
