Aspirācijas parādība ir cieši saistīta ar angļu valodas izrunu, tādēļ izpētei kā mācīt aspirāciju ar datora palīdzību ir liela nozīme. Pētījuma mērķis bija izstrādāt uz tehnoloģijām balstītus vingrinājumus, kas varētu palīdzēt mācīt studentiem angļu valodas līdzskaņu aspirācijas aspektus. Teorija par līdzskaņu aspirāciju un valodas apguvi/pasniegšanu ar datoru palīdzību tika izpētīta, kā arī darba gaidā aspirācijas tēma tika pasniegta studentiem izmantojot Audacity programmu. Diplomdarba autore ir izpētījusi “Quizlet” kā vārdu krājuma uzlabošanas un apguves rīku angļu valodas stundās privātajā mācību praksē. Autore ir analizējusi literatūru par kopīgajām leksikas un tiešsaistes platformu mācīšanas metodēm, kuras varētu ieviest valodas apguves procesā. Kā pētījuma metode tika izvēlēta gadījuma izpēte. The aim of the present thesis is to investigate the source of Stroop (interference) effects in weak bilinguals (Experiment 1) and in early language learning (Experiment 2-6). Participants performed a bilingual colour-word Stroop task with intermixed first language (L1) and second language (L2) words. The typical finding from the Stroop literature is slower and less accurate responding when the word and colour are incongruent (e.g., “red” in blue) relative to congruent (e.g., “red” in red). Interestingly, this congruency effect occurs for the colour words from both L1 and L2. What produces this congruency effect? Does vocationally oriented foreign language teaching meet the needs of Finnish and German vocational school students?

This article is based on upper secondary vocational school students’ interviews made in Finland and in Germany in 2016 and in 2017. The study results suggest that in both countries, English language skills are seen as the most important foreign language skills and the students would like to have more vocationally oriented English language classes with focus on authentic spoken language communication. The differences in the educational systems of the two countries might result in differences in students‘ perceptions of whether and to what extent they will actually need foreign languages in their future working life. nonPeerReviewed

Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvittää, mitä oppimisuskomuksia yhteisön keskusteluissa esiintyy, miten ne rakentuvat julkaisijan artikkeleissa sekä yleisön ja julkaisijan välisissä diskursseissa. Tutkin tätä analysoimalla syys- marraskuussa 2011 julkaistua kielenoppimiseen liittyvää artikkelisarjaa kommentteineen. The paper brings together two important issues related to effective functioning of foreign/second language learners, that is character strengths (one of the pillars of positive psychology) and the use of literary texts for language learning.
