This paper presents a teaching experiment based on the Edwardian children's literature classic, The Wind in the Willows, getting the students to engage with this text through reading, writing and talking, and aiming at triggering their linguistic creativity.

This paper deals with so-called “mind-saying” and “silence of languages”. These concepts mainly belong to cognitive linguistics and specifically to “linguistic neoteny” (theory of uncompleted speaker). Every human being develops a different cognitive relation with the languages he speaks. Nevertheless, those languages obligate him to accept cognitive restrictions to deal with quantity, quality and frequency of the formulations. The restrictions force the speaker to choose between the linguistic production (le dire) and the lack of linguistic production (le non-dire). In the first case, the enunciation is built with the units needed for the expression and the expressiveness of the language. …
Dire institutionnel et espaces de langage - le cas de l'Algérie - Essai d'une sémio-didactique

This thesis is 1) an discourse analysis of the institution' texts (Algeria, in the eighties) + analysis of the young people in secondary school (part I) ; 2) a semiotic analysis of spaces in Algeria (country, village, secondary school). The results : we showed many contraints in a collective speech, through 2 dominant themas : time, action ; and 2 recessive themas : subject (speaker), mirror. So, education and didactic perspective are useful.

Työn tavoitteena oli selvittää, miten lukion ranskan lyhyen oppimäärän 3. ja 4. kurssien oppikirja Escalier 2 opettaa ääntämistä. Ääntäminen oli tutkimusaiheena kiinnostava, sillä se luo pohjan suulliselle ilmaisulle. Puhujan kieliopillisesti oikea viesti ei välttämättä välity halutunlaisena, mikäli ääntämisessä on liian suuria puutteita. Oletuksena oli, että kirjassa keskityttäisiin erityisesti suomenkielisille oppijoille hankaluuksia tuottavien ranskan fonetiikan piirteiden opettamiseen.
