Circulating Levels of Ferritin, RDW, PTLs as Predictive Biomarkers of Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation Risk after Cardiac Surgery in Extracorporeal …
2022
Postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) is the most common arrhythmia after cardiac surgery in conventional extracorporeal circulation (CECC), with an incidence of 15–50%. The POAF pathophysiology is not known, and no blood biomarkers exist. However, an association between increased ferritin levels and increased AF risk, has been demonstrated. Based on such evidence, here, we evaluated the effectiveness of ferritin and other haematological parameters as POAF risk biomarkers in patients subjected to cardiac surgery. We enrolled 105 patients (mean age = 70.1 ± 7.1 years; 70 men and 35 females) with diverse heart pathologies and who were subjected to cardiothoracic surgery. Their blood sample…
Photovoltaic effect in bulk heterojunction system with glass forming indandione derivative DMABI-6Ph
2018
The aim of the work is to evaluate possible use of 2-[[4-(bis(2-trityloxyethyl)amino)phenyl]methylene]indane-1,3-dione (DMABI-6Ph) as light absorbing material for solar cells. DMABI-6Ph is a perspective material due to its good photoelectrical, thermal and chemical properties. The main advantage of DMABI-6Ph is its ability to form amorphous films by wet-casting methods thus allowing using the compound in organic solar cells made from solution. For now most popular materials for solution processable solar cells are polymer P3HT and fullerene derivative PCBM, but lot of investigations are in the field of new low molecular weight materials to replace the polymer. Photoelectrical measurements w…
Interpretation of the electronic absorption spectrum of free base porphin by using multiconfigurational second-order perturbation theory
1998
Abstract Multiconfigurational second-order perturbation (CASPT2) calculations have been performed on the low-lying optically allowed valence excited states of the free base porphin molecule in order to assign the four lowest bands of the spectrum. The low-lying triplet states have also been characterized. A basis set of the atomic natural orbital type of split-valence plus polarization quality for first-row atoms has been employed. Polarization functions are important for an accurate description of the transitions. These CASPT2 results provide a consistent picture of the experimental spectrum. Each band of the spectrum up to 4.5 eV is composed of a pair of states, which become degenerate in…
Dimethoxy Aromatic Compounds. VIII. Degenerate Dealkylation-Realkylation Reaction of 1-Bis(2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-2-methylpropane.
1994
The condensation reaction under acid condition of the benzylic alcohols 1, 2 and 3 with the hexadeutero dimethoxybenzenes 4, 5 and 6 leads to the expected hexadeutero bis(dimethoxyphenyl)-2-methylpropanes 7, 8 and 9, respectively. However, the presence of both dodecadeutero and unlabelled 1-bis(2, 4-dimethoxyphenyl)-2-methylpropanes 10 and 11 indicates that 9 undergoes a rapid degenerate dealkylation-alkylation reaction.
Networked Analysis of a Teaching Unit for Primary School Symmetries in the Form of an E-Book
2021
In mathematics education, technology offers many opportunities to enrich curricular contents. Plane symmetries is a topic often skipped by primary teachers. However, it is important and may be worked in attractive ways in dynamic geometry software environments. In any regular classroom there are students with different levels of mathematical attainment, some needing easy tasks while others, particularly mathematically-gifted students, need challenging problems. We present a teaching unit for plane symmetries, adequate for upper primary school grades, implemented in a fully interactive electronic book, with most activities solved in GeoGebra apps. The book allows student to choose which itin…
Parlers populaires et paysans dans la fiction en prose (XVIe-XVIIe siècles)
2018
In fictional narrative and comedy of sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, staging lower-class or country people is a pretext to make up a comic stereotype. One of the main attributes of this stereotype is the use of a low language level, a faulty French, soiled by regionalisms. To this « popular » French language are often associated dull-wittedness, naivety, foolishness, as well as conversations limited on common place subjects. This linguistic standard is often presented on the occasion of a dialogue with a learned, well-read and refined interlocutor. Contrasting standards make laugh and disqualify as rough some uses and turns of phrase of French, at the time when grammatical and stylisti…
Chirality of 135 Nd reexamined : Evidence for multiple chiral doublet bands
2019
One new pair of positive-parity chiral doublet bands have been identified in the odd-A nucleus 135Nd which together with the previously reported negative-parity chiral doublet bands constitute a third case of multiple chiral doublet (MχD) bands in the A ≈ 130 mass region. The properties of the MχD bands are well reproduced by constrained covariant density functional theory and particle rotor model calculations. The newly observed MχD bands in 135Nd represents an important milestone in supporting the existence of MχD in nuclei. peerReviewed
Restoring the valence-shell stabilization in 140Nd
2020
A projectile Coulomb-excitation experiment was performed at the radioactive-ion beam facility HIE-ISOLDE at CERN to obtain $E2$ and $M1$ transition matrix elements of $^{140}$Nd using the multistep Coulomb-excitation code GOSIA. The absolute $M1$ strengths, $\textrm{B}(M1;2^+_2→2^+_1)=0.033(8)μ^2_N,\textrm{B}(M1;2^+_3→2^+_1)=0.26^{+0.11}_{−0.10}μ^2_N$, and $\textrm{B}(M1;2^+_4→2^+_1)<0.04μ^2_{\textrm{N}}$, identify the $2^+_3$ state as the main fragment of the one-quadrupole-phonon proton-neutron mixed-symmetry state of $^{140}$Nd. The degree of F-spin mixing in $^{140}$Nd was quantified with the determination of the mixing matrix element $V_{\textrm{F−mix}}<7^{+13}_{−7}$keV.
Isospin symmetry in $B(E2)$ values: Coulomb excitation study of ${}^{21}$Mg
2018
The $T_z$~=~$-\frac{3}{2}$ nucleus ${}^{21}$Mg has been studied by Coulomb excitation on ${}^{196}$Pt and ${}^{110}$Pd targets. A 205.6(1)-keV $\gamma$-ray transition resulting from the Coulomb excitation of the $\frac{5}{2}^+$ ground state to the first excited $\frac{1}{2}^+$ state in ${}^{21}$Mg was observed for the first time. Coulomb excitation cross-section measurements with both targets and a measurement of the half-life of the $\frac{1}{2}^+$ state yield an adopted value of $B(E2;\frac{5}{2}^+\rightarrow\frac{1}{2}^+)$~=~13.3(4)~W.u. A new excited state at 1672(1)~keV with tentative $\frac{9}{2}^+$ assignment was also identified in ${}^{21}$Mg. This work demonstrates large difference…
β and γ bands in N = 88, 90, and 92 isotones investigated with a five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian based on covariant density functional theory…
2019
A comprehensive systematic study is made for the collective β and γ bands in even-even isotopes with neutron numbers N=88 to 92 and proton numbers Z=62(Sm) to 70 (Yb). Data, including excitation energies, B(E0) and B(E2) values, and branching ratios from previously published experiments are collated with new data presented for the first time in this study. The experimental data are compared to calculations using a five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian (5DCH) based on the covariant density functional theory (CDFT). A realistic potential in the quadrupole shape parameters V(β,γ) is determined from potential energy surfaces (PES) calculated using the CDFT. The parameters of the 5DCH are fixe…
