This paper investigates the finite-time distributedL2–L∞consensus control problem of multiagent systems with parameter uncertainties. The relative states of neighboring agents are used to construct the control law and some agents know their own states. By substituting the control input into multiagent systems, an augmented closed-loop system is obtained. Then, we analyze its finite-time boundedness (FTB) and finite-timeL2–L∞performance. A sufficient condition for the existence of the designed controller is given with the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, simulation results are described.
The case of literacy motivation : Playful 3D immersive learning environments and problem-focused education for blended digital storytelling
2018
The University of Patras' Library Services designed and offered to primary and secondary schools the pilot educational program “From the Ancient to the Modern Tablets”, featuring immersive multimedia learning experiences about the book history. The pilot program consisted of three stages: a playful library tour, followed by an interactive game-based digital storytelling activity with game elements, and a collaborative creative reflective hands-on activity. Utilizing the avatar psychology power, the visualization and simulation affordances of 3D immersive learning environments and the appeal of storytelling and game-based learning, the “gamified” blended narrative on the book evolution enabl…
Diagnostic accuracy of adding copeptin to cardiac troponin for non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
2018
Introduction This study aimed to determine the diagnostic accuracy of adding copeptin to cardiac troponin (cTn) on admission to the emergency department (ED) for non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) compared to cTn alone. Materials and methods A literature search of MEDLINE, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library was performed (search date: April 13, 2018). Primary studies were included if they accurately reported on patients with symptoms suggestive of acute myocardial infarction and measured both cTn alone and cTn with copeptin upon admission to the ED. The patients with evidence of ST elevation myocardial infarction were excluded. To assess the risk of bias for the included studies,…
Respiratory support techniques to avoid desaturation in critically ill patients requiring endotracheal intubation: A systematic review and meta-analy…
2017
Abstract Purpose To evaluate which respiratory support method for critically ill patients undergoing endotracheal intubation (ETI) is associated with less desaturation. Methods We searched PubMed, Cochrane Library, Scopus and CINAHL databases. We included randomized (RCT) and non-randomized (non-RCT) studies investigating any method of respiratory support before/during ETI compared to a reference control. Results Apneic oxygenation (ApOx) was the most commonly investigated respiratory support technique for critically ill patients undergoing intubation (4 RCTs, 358 patients). Three of these studies investigated high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) for ApOx while standard nasal cannula was used in …
Știrile false: limite și perspective ale analizei lingvistice
2020
This article sets out to offer an overview and a review of the latest linguistic research into fake news. To this end, the authors put forward a critical discussion of the paradigms and instruments deployed over the past decade to analyze and identify this textual (micro)genre, from natural language processing techniques to critical discourse analysis. The conclusion of our study is that a proper understanding of the fake news phenomenon can only be achieved by bringing together qualitative and quantitative methods.
Operaționalizarea experimentului în critica literară românească
2021
This study has a two-fold structure, in its first part exploring various models of experimental literature, proposed by researchers such as Gerald Prince and Warren Motte, as well as theoretical attempts to define and analyze experimental literature in Romania. The second part focuses on the quantitative analysis of keywords related to “the experimental” found in literary histories of Romanian literature authored by E. Lovinescu, G. Călinescu, Nicolae Manolescu, and Mihai Iovănel, as well as The General Dictionary of Romanian Literature and The Chronological Dictionary of the Romanian Novel. By simply searching several pointedly chosen terms in the corpus, a cartography of what is considere…
Il nucleo di manoscritti arabi provenienti da San Martino delle Scale e conservati presso la Biblioteca Centrale della Regione Siciliana
2019
Abstract Among the manuscripts located into the Central Library of the Sicilian Region “Alberto Bombace” in Palermo there is a corpus of Arabic manuscripts coming from the Benedictine Monastery of San Martino delle Scale, as testified by the shelf-mark S.M., indicating that they used to belong to the Library of San Martino delle Scale’s Monastery. Through an in-depth philological and historical investigation, the author will try to give a general description of the documents providing a reconstruction of their arrival to San Martino delle Scale first and then to the Central Library of the Sicilian Region.
Digitization Practice in Latvia: Achievements and Trends of Development
2011
The 1980s are characterized by rapid development of digitization process and research of digital libraries. In 1994 Latvia was also involved in this process with the first attempt to digitize the materials of high demand and in poor physical condition at the Latvian Academic Library. In 1998 the digitization process was launched at the National Library of Latvia. The study, the first results of which are presented in this publication, is made to analyze the history of digitization in Latvia, and to evaluate the achievements of these activities. Up to now the development of digitization process has been poorly documented, therefore the empirical sources are unpublished documents (project rep…
MIF from mussel: coding sequence, phylogeny, polymorphism, 3D model and regulation of expression.
2012
Abstract Three macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF)-related sequences were identified from a Mytilus galloprovincialis EST library. The consensus sequence included a 5′-UTR of 32 nucleotides, the complete ORF of 345 nucleotides, and a 3′-UTR of 349 nucleotides. As for other MIFs, M. galloprovincialis ORF does not include any signal or C-terminus extensions. The translated sequence of 115 amino acids possesses a molecular mass of 12,681.4, a pI of 6.27 and a stability index of 21.48. Its 3D structure resembles human MIF except for one shorter α-helix. Although evolutionary separated from ticks and vertebrates, Mg-MIF appeared to be closely related to Pinctada fucata and Haliotis, but…
Taxonomic and functional diversity of atrazine‐degrading bacterial communities enriched from agrochemical factory soil
2010
Aims: To characterize atrazine-degrading potential of bacterial communities enriched from agrochemical factory soil by analysing diversity and organization of catabolic genes. Methods and Results: The bacterial communities enriched from three different sites of varying atrazine contamination mineralized 65–80% of 14C ring-labelled atrazine. The presence of trzN-atzBC-trzD, trzN-atzABC-trzD and trzN-atzABCDEF-trzD gene combinations was determined by PCR. In all enriched communities, trzN-atzBC genes were located on a 165-kb plasmid, while atzBC or atzC genes were located on separated plasmids. Quantitative PCR revealed that catabolic genes were present in up to 4% of the community. Restricti…
