Mimo poprawy infrastruktury, która znacznie przekłada się na poprawę jakości życia, na wielu obszarach wiejskich można zauważyć niekorzystne tendencje związane z kształtowaniem się zarówno przyrostu naturalnego, starzenia się społeczeństwa, jak i ujemnego salda migracyjnego. Le 2 février dernier, au Collège de France, à Paris, Lionel Brétillon, Directeur de l’unité CSGA et Responsable de l’équipe « Œil, nutrition et signalisation cellulaire », a reçu le Prix de la Fondation de l’Œil pour des recherches qui ont mis en évidence le lien entre la consommation d’Omégas 3 et la protection de la rétine de l'œil.Ce prix doté de 50 000 € couronne le travail mené avec son équipe depuis 2004. Ces recherches marquent une étape importante dans la prévention de la dégénérescence maculaire liée à l'âge (DMLA).En tout, 18 équipes de chercheurs ont été primées pour un total de 406 000 euros dédiés à la recherche médicale.
