"Table 12: Cross-section limits lepton specific tanb 1" of "Search for a heavy Higgs boson decaying into a $Z$ boson and another heavy Higgs boson in…

2018

The cross section times BR(A->ZH) times BR(H->bb) limits for an A boson in the lepton specific, tanbeta 1, 2HDM. For each signal point, characterised by the mass pair (mA, mH), two limits are provided, the observed and the expected. The correct width as predicted by this particular parameter choice of the 2HDM is used. For lepton specific only gluon-gluon fusion is used and the nb=2 category only.

Protection of the surviving spouse in French law

2021

While French inheritance law has recently sought to give everyone more freedom to anticipate the transmission of their estate, it still guarantees to the children a reserved portion in his estate. This guarantees the deceased?s children a minimum share in his/her estate. However, the mechanisms protecting this reserve are subject to legal adjustments when spouses wish to organize the protection of the couple?s survivor, either by submitting to a conventional matrimonial regime or by giving themselves gifts that improve the legal succession of the spouse. This ensures a balance between the protection of the spouse and that of the compulsory heirs. Not seeming to be satisfied, several famous …

Search for a Dark Leptophilic Scalar in e(+) e(-) Collisions

2020

Many scenarios of physics beyond the standard model predict the existence of new gauge singlets, which might be substantially lighter than the weak scale. The experimental constraints on additional scalars with masses in the MeV to GeV range could be significantly weakened if they interact predominantly with leptons rather than quarks. At an e+e- collider, such a leptophilic scalar (φL) would be produced predominantly through radiation from a τ lepton. We report herein a search for e+e-→τ+τ-φL, φL→ℓ+ℓ- (ℓ=e, μ) using data collected by the BABAR experiment at SLAC. No significant signal is observed, and we set limits on the φL coupling to leptons in the range 0.04<mφL<7.0 GeV. These bounds s…

Search for a Stable Six-Quark State at BABAR

2019

Recent investigations have suggested that the six-quark combination uuddss could be a deeply bound state (S) that has eluded detection so far, and a potential dark matter candidate. We report the first search for a stable, doubly strange six-quark state in Upsilon -> S anti-Lambda anti-Lambda decays based on a sample of 90 million Upsilon(2S) and 110 million Upsilon(3S) decays collected by the BABAR experiment. No signal is observed, and 90% confidence level limits on the combined Upsilon(2S,3S) -> S anti-Lambda anti-Lambda branching fraction in the range (1.2-1.4)x10^-7 are derived for m_S < 2.05 GeV. These bounds set stringent limits on the existence of such exotic particles.

Search for Extraterrestrial Point Sources of Neutrinos with AMANDA-II

2003

We present the results of a search for point sources of high energy neutrinos in the northern hemisphere using AMANDA-II data collected in the year 2000. Included are flux limits on several AGN blazars, microquasars, magnetars and other candidate neutrino sources. A search for excesses above a random background of cosmic-ray-induced atmospheric neutrinos and misreconstructed downgoing cosmic-ray muons reveals no statistically significant neutrino point sources. We show that AMANDA-II has achieved the sensitivity required to probe known TeV gamma-ray sources such as the blazar Markarian 501 in its 1997 flaring state at a level where neutrino and gamma-ray fluxes are equal.

A note on a generalization of Françoise's algorithm for calculating higher order Melnikov functions

2004

In [J. Differential Equations 146 (2) (1998) 320–335], Françoise gives an algorithm for calculating the first nonvanishing Melnikov function M of a small polynomial perturbation of a Hamiltonian vector field and shows that M is given by an Abelian integral. This is done under the condition that vanishing of an Abelian integral of any polynomial form ω on the family of cycles implies that the form is algebraically relatively exact. We study here a simple example where Françoise’s condition is not verified. We generalize Françoise’s algorithm to this case and we show that M belongs to the C[log t, t, 1/t] module above the Abelian integrals. We also establish the linear differential system ver…

A generalization of Françoise's algorithm for calculating higher order Melnikov functions

2002

Abstract In [J. Differential Equations 146 (2) (1998) 320–335], Francoise gives an algorithm for calculating the first nonvanishing Melnikov function Ml of a small polynomial perturbation of a Hamiltonian vector field and shows that Ml is given by an Abelian integral. This is done under the condition that vanishing of an Abelian integral of any polynomial form ω on the family of cycles implies that the form is algebraically relatively exact. We study here a simple example where Francoise's condition is not verified. We generalize Francoise's algorithm to this case and we show that Ml belongs to the C [ log t,t,1/t] module above the Abelian integrals. We also establish the linear differentia…
