The paper examines aspectual and selectional properties of Old Catalan prefixed verbs in comparison with their non prefixed counterparts. We ground our analysis on Talmy’s (1985, 2000) notion of verb framed and satellite framed languages and on Mateu (2002, 2003) and Mateu & Rigau (2002) theory of lexical structure, and we argue that telicity and other aspectual properties associated with prefixed verbs are by effects derived from the semantic value of the prefix together with the lexical structure they give rise to. From conceptualization to constructions in Finnish as an L2 : a case study

AbstractThis study traces the individual learning trajectories of an adult beginner L2 Finnish learner in expressing the extralinguistic concept of evaluation from a dynamic usage-based perspective. Our results provide support for the view of learner language as a dynamic system in which patterns wax and wane and in which a change in one component has the potential to affect the whole system. In the early stages of learning there was a strong preference to use lexical verbs first, and then adjectives. The study also shows that variability plays a role. Therefore, the role of multicultural children's literature plays an essential role in order to reflect this intercultural diversity in Spanish classrooms. In this regard, The Other Side (2001) portrays an African American experience where interaction, communication and negotiation become crucial aspects for their protagonists. In this way, this picture book can be used not only to teach English as a foreign language in primary school, but also to show values like respect, tolerance and partnership.

According to scientific literature, there is a gap in the statistical analysis of tourism due to missing data or poorly structured statistical information production services. This information, which can be classified as public goods, is currently managed by the public sector and national statistical systems. Dans ce travail, on étudie une des œuvres pionnières de référence en toxicologie du XIXe siècle : Traité des poisons, publiée par Mathieu Orfila entre 1814 et1815 à Paris, traduite en espagnol par le Dr. Mariano de Larra y Langelot en 1819, et éditée à Madrid. Larra se vante, dans l'introduction, que sa traduction a été révisée par Orfila lui-même, détail qui n’apparaît pas dans les traductions en allemand, anglais ou italien. Comparative linguistics seems to suggest that the gap between two languages can be filled by grammar. But mapping the structural gaps between languages hardly makes for the more fundamental gap that is created by the writing of a new text, a supposedly identical addendum to the first. Writing that new text entails questions about the nature of texts, their intentions, their interpretations. Translation must therefore develop a hermeneutical approach. La novela Tengo miedo, torero (2001) de Pedro Lemebel aborda la situación de la comunidad transgénero en Santiago de Chile bajo la dictadura de Augusto Pinochet. El gesto escriturario del autor apunta a la recuperación de la memoria histórica de su país desde el punto de vista de la parodia, la irrisión, la incongruencia y la suma de contrarios del oxímoron Camp.
