We report on high-pressure angle-dispersive X-ray diffraction data up to 15 GPa andab initiototal-energy calculations up to 242 GPa for KBrO3. No phase transition was found below 15 Pa in contrast to previously reported data. Its experimental bulk modulus in the quasi-hydrostatic regime isB0= 18.8 (9) GPa with a bulk modulus pressure derivativeB′0= 8.2 (4). However, according to ourab initiocalculations, KBrO3significantly reduces its rhombohedral distortionviasmall cooperative movements of the atoms and the structure progressively approaches the cubic symmetry, where the KBr subarray would adopt a topology similar to that of the corresponding B2-type bromide. Topological invariants of stable immersions of oriented 3-manifolds in R4

Abstract We show that the Z -module of first order local Vassiliev type invariants of stable immersions of oriented 3-manifolds into R 4 is generated by 3 topological invariants: The number of pairs of quadruple points and the positive and negative linking invariants l + and l − introduced by V. Goryunov (1997) [7] . We obtain the expression for the Euler characteristic of the immersed 3-manifold in terms of these invariants. We also prove that the total number of connected components of the triple points curve is a non-local Vassiliev type invariant.

The bipartite unconstrained 0-1 quadratic programming problem (BQP) is a difficult combinatorial problem defined on a complete graph that consists of selecting a subgraph that maximizes the sum of the weights associated with the chosen vertices and the edges that connect them. The problem has appeared under several different names in the literature, including maximum weight induced subgraph, maximum weight biclique, matrix factorization and maximum cut on bipartite graphs. Property (gab) through localized SVEP

In this article we study the property (gab) for a bounded linear operator T 2 L(X) on a Banach space X which is a stronger variant of Browder's theorem. We shall give several characterizations of property (gab). These characterizations are obtained by using typical tools from local spectral theory. We also show that property (gab) holds for large classes of operators and prove the stability of property (gab) under some commuting perturbations. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classication. On Weakly Locally Uniformly Rotund Banach Spaces

Abstract We show that every normed space E with a weakly locally uniformly rotund norm has an equivalent locally uniformly rotund norm. After obtaining a σ -discrete network of the unit sphere S E for the weak topology we deduce that the space E must have a countable cover by sets of small local diameter, which in turn implies the renorming conclusion. This solves a question posed by Deville, Godefroy, Haydon, and Zizler. For a weakly uniformly rotund norm we prove that the unit sphere is always metrizable for the weak topology despite the fact that it may not have the Kadec property. La seconde partie se centre sur les conséquences en matière de politique locale de ce travail d'évaluation. On s'interroge notamment sur le fait que l'évaluation externe (qui analyse la cohérence et l'efficacité du dispositif) conduisent à des résultats sensiblement différents de ceux issus des évaluations internes réalisées antérieurement sur ce dispositif d'accompagnement scolaire (réévaluations qui reposent principalement sur les jugements des acteurs impliqués aux différents niveaux).
Les effets du dispositif Garantie jeunes : une analyse des parcours d'insertion professionnelle et sociale

International audience; En tenant compte du concept de compétences sociales, ce papier propose des pistes de réflexion quant aux effets du dispositif Garantie jeunes sur l’insertion professionnelle et sociale. D’abord, nos résultats montrent que les jeunes interrogés correspondent à la cible visée. Ensuite, l’expérience des six premiers mois dans le dispositif traduit des situations variées entre les jeunes. Le vécu durant le collectif ainsi que la période de « work first » diffèrent. Enfin, l’acquisition de nouvelles compétences sociales n’est pas homogène pour l’ensemble des bénéficiaires. En effet, certains jeunes n’ont pas eu de nouvelles expériences professionnelles significatives.

Alla luce di tali premesse l'articolo analizza il potenziale ruolo per uno sviluppo duraturo che i distretti rurali possono svolgere in Sicilia.
Guided local search for the optimal communication spanning tree problem

This paper considers the optimal communication spanning tree (OCST) problem. Previous work analyzed features of high-quality solutions. Consequently, integrating this knowledge into a metaheuristic increases its performance for the OCST problem. In this paper, we present a guided local search (GLS) approach which dynamically changes the objective function to guide the search process into promising areas. In contrast to traditional approaches which reward promising solution features by favoring edges with low weights pointing towards the tree's center, GLS penalizes low-quality edges with large weights that do not point towards the tree's center.
