Improved GNSS positioning exploiting a vehicular P2P infrastructure

This paper considers the possibility to exploit external altitude measurements to improve the performance of a Kalman based GNSS receiver. The altitude measurements are provided by means of a peer to peer network, that is supposed to be based on the evolution of the 802.11 standard for the vehicular environment, namely the WAVE (802.11p). The performance of such a system are investigated for different characteristics of the aiding measurement and for a different number and disposals of the aiding peers. Unveiling the Intramolecular Ionic Diels–Alder Reactions within Molecular Electron Density Theory

The intramolecular ionic Diels–Alder (IIDA) reactions of two dieniminiums were studied within the Molecular Electron Density Theory (MEDT) at the ωB97XD/6-311G(d,p) computational level. Topological analysis of the electron localization function (ELF) of dieniminiums showed that their electronic structures can been seen as the sum of those of butadiene and ethaniminium. The superelectrophilic character of dieniminiums accounts for the high intramolecular global electron density transfer taking place from the diene framework to the iminium one at the transition state structures (TSs) of these IIDA reactions, which are classified as the forward electro density flux. Ultraprecise Rydberg atomic localization using optical vortices

We propose a robust localization of the highly-excited Rydberg atoms, interacting with doughnut-shaped optical vortices. Compared with the earlier standing-wave (SW)-based localization methods, a vortex beam can provide an ultrahigh-precision two-dimensional localization solely in the zero-intensity center, within a confined excitation region down to the nanometer scale. We show that the presence of the Rydberg-Rydberg interaction permits counter-intuitively much stronger confinement towards a high spatial resolution when it is partially compensated by a suitable detuning. Abstract Bax inhibitor-1 (BI-1) is an evolutionarily conserved pH-dependent Ca2+ leak channel in the endoplasmic reticulum and the founding member of a family of six highly hydrophobic mammalian proteins named transmembrane BAX inhibitor motif containing (TMBIM) 1-6 with BI-1 being TMBIM6. Here we compared the structure, subcellular localization, tissue expression and the effect on the cellular Ca2+ homeostasis of all family members side by side. Pharmacological and electrophysiological studies provide evidence for the involvement of different nicotinic acetylcholine receptor isoforms in rat neocortical and hippocampal signal transduction. Yet, rather little is known on the cellular localization of these isoforms. With the availability of isoform specific nucleic acid probes and sensitive non-isotopic detection systems, nicotinic receptors can be studied on the mRNA level in individual neurons. Uptake and Fate of Fluorescently Labeled DNA Nanostructures in Cellular Environments: A Cautionary Tale.

[Image: see text] Fluorescent dye labeling of DNA oligonucleotides and nanostructures is one of the most used techniques to track their fate and cellular localization inside cells. Here, we report that intracellular fluorescence, and even FRET signals, cannot be correlated with the cellular uptake of intact DNA structures. Live cell imaging revealed high colocalization of cyanine-labeled DNA oligos and nanostructures with phosphorylated small-molecule cyanine dyes, one of the degradation products from these DNA compounds.
