Automatic detection of cervical cells in Pap-smear images using polar transform and k-means segmentation

We introduce a novel method of cell detection and segmentation based on a polar transformation. The method assumes that the seed point of each candidate is placed inside the nucleus. The polar representation, built around the seed, is segmented using k-means clustering into one candidate-nucleus cluster, one candidate-cytoplasm cluster and up to three miscellaneous clusters, representing background or surrounding objects that are not part of the candidate cell. For assessing the natural number of clusters, the silhouette method is used. Maģistra darba temats ir “Lasīšanas paradumu maiņa tradicionālā un elektroniskā vidē”. This article describes the main results of an ethnographic study on citizen participation carried out in the context of the development of the Urban Initiative (2007-2015): Cuenca-Barrio de San Antón. Managed by the City Council of Cuenca and financed by the European Regional Development Funds (FEDER) under the Ministry of Economy and Finance at the Government of Spain The results of the research show how in the context of the application of neoliberal policies, citizen participation becomes the trigger for new conflicts between institutions and citizens. Classical sociology is intrinsically historical, but after the first theoretical synthesis the dialogue between both disciplines was extinguished and it has often been necessary to defend the need for the historical view in sociology from the margins of the dominant paradigm. However, as a specialty or subdiscipline, historical sociology has consolidated its own academic space and a strong theoretical, methodological and conceptual body. The article is a synthetic essay that exposes the main theoretical lines of the postmarxist approach of Laclau and Mouffe, on the one hand, and the autonomist post-operaism of Negri, Hardt, Virno, etc., on the other hand. These theories are conceived as attempts to rationalize current political bets by various political sectors and social movements. It analyzes both argumentative strategies from «orthodox» Marxism and the structure / superstructure relationship; and the forms of constitution of new subjectivities. The inequality in access to cyberspace due to age at the beginning of the twenty-first century was followed by an economic crisis that intensified many socio-labor dynamics. Through a contextualization with INE data and a qualitative sample, the following work tries to capture the attitudes about ICT related to their previous labor trajectories on those over 45 years of age; and, on the other hand, its introduction to cyberspace from work as a conditioner in the perception of crisis, the maintenance of employment or their way out to retirement.

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot vai pastāv pozitīva saistība starp darbu maiņās un darba un ģimenes dzīves konfliktu, vai pastāv negatīva saistība starp darba pašefektivitāti un darba un ģimenes dzīves konfliktu, vai šī negatīvā saistība ievērojami izteiktāka cilvēkiem, kas strādā maiņās, un vai darba pašefektivitāte darbojas kā mediators starp darba un ģimenes dzīves konfliktu un darbu maiņās. Pētījumā kopumā piedalījās 127 respondenti, no kuriem 74 sievietes (58,28%) un 53 vīrieši (41,72%), no kuriem 62 strādā maiņu darba laikā (48,82%), bet pārējie 65 strādā normālā darba laikā (51,18%).
