High Pressure Raman, Optical Absorption, and Resistivity Study of SrCrO4

We studied the electronic and vibrational properties of monazite-type SrCrO4 under compression. The study extended the pressure range of previous studies from 26 to 58 GPa. The existence of two previously reported phase transitions was confirmed at 9 and 14 GPa, and two new phase transitions were found at 35 and 48 GPa. These transitions involve several changes in the vibrational and transport properties with the new high-pressure phases having a conductivity lower than that of the previously known phases. No evidence of chemical decomposition or metallization of SrCrO4 was detected. A tentative explanation for the reported observations is discussed.

In the paper Henstock, McShane, Birkhoff and variationally multivalued integrals are studied for multifunctions taking values in the hyperspace of convex and weakly compact subsets of a general Banach space X. In particular the existence of selections integrable in the same sense of the corresponding multifunctions has been considered.

The lack of parking spaces for bicycles is one of the main issues that many cities face. A proper planning of a bike station network is necessary in order to optimize the whole urban system and the transport supply. In this work a step-by-step analysis is proposed to find the best location for the bicycle lots in the old town of Palermo. The optimization method includes the use of both a Set Covering Model and a Maximum Coverage Location Problem. The dataset for the simulations was collected by direct and indirect surveys on the population and implemented into Open source GIS software. The 3-D trend of anticline axial planes, fault planes and surfaces has been reconstructed in the offshore area between the Egadi Islands and the Sciacca High from the interpretation of multichannel seismic reflection profiles and well data (available from the VIDEPI project database).
