The goal of the Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) is to standardize the interpretation and reporting of liver observations on contrast-enhanced CT and MR imaging of patients at risk for hepatocellular carcinoma. Although LI-RADS represents a significant achievement in standardization of the diagnosis and management of cirrhotic patients, complexity and caveats to the algorithm may challenge correct application in clinical practice. Chemotherapy-induced hepatopathy includes a wide variety of parenchymal and vascular hepatic changes on imaging, including diffuse or focal hepatopathies (i.e. hepatitis, steatosis, fibrosis, pseudocirrhosis, or sinusoidal obstruction). Differentiation of left ventricle non-compaction (LVNC) from hypertrabeculated LV due to a negative heart remodeling in thalassemia intermedia (TI) can depends on the selected CMR criterion. The recently proposed Piga's criterion (NC/C ratio threshold of >2.5, Am J Haem 2012) seems to have a low specificity to identify the true LVNC in TI. A topodiagnostic investigation on body lateropulsion in medullary infarcts.

Body lateropulsion may occur without signs of vestibular dysfunction and vestibular nucleus involvement. The authors examined 10 such patients with three-dimensional brainstem mapping. Body lateropulsion without limb ataxia reflected an impairment of vestibulospinal postural control caused by a lesion of the descending lateral vestibulospinal tract, whereas body lateropulsion with limb ataxia was probably the consequence of impaired or absent proprioceptive information caused by a lesion of the ascending dorsal spino-cerebellar tract.
