Pharmacogenomic identification of small molecules for lineage specific manipulation of subventricular zone germinal activity

2017

Strategies for promoting neural regeneration are hindered by the difficulty of manipulating desired neural fates in the brain without complex genetic methods. The subventricular zone (SVZ) is the largest germinal zone of the forebrain and is responsible for the lifelong generation of interneuron subtypes and oligodendrocytes. Here, we have performed a bioinformatics analysis of the transcriptome of dorsal and lateral SVZ in early postnatal mice, including neural stem cells (NSCs) and their immediate progenies, which generate distinct neural lineages. We identified multiple signaling pathways that trigger distinct downstream transcriptional networks to regulate the diversity of neural cells …

Fate-mapping in the procephalic region of the embryonic Drosopbila head

1994

Using intracellular horseradish peroxidase injection we traced the developmental fate of early gastrula cells of the procephalic region in the stage 16/17 embryo. Morphogenetic movements in the developing brain are described in three dimensions. The results are related to head segmentation, and an early gastrula fate map of pregnathal head segments is proposed.

The organization, localization and nucleotide sequence of the histone genes of the midge Chironomus thummi.

1991

Several histone gene repeating units containing the genes for histones H1, H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 were isolated by screening a genomic DNA library from the midge Chironomus thummi ssp. thummi. The nucleotide sequence of one complete histone gene repeating unit was determined. This repeating unit contains one copy of each of the five histone genes in the order and orientation mean value of H3 H4 mean value of H2A H2B H1 mean value of. The overall length is 6262 bp. The orientation, nucleotide sequence and inferred amino acid sequence as well as the chromosomal arrangement and localization are different from those reported for Drosophila melanogaster. The codon usage also shows marked difference…

Inhibitory effect of A10 dopaminergic neurons of the ventral tegmental area on the orienting response evoked by acoustic stimulation in the cat.

1998

Abstract The effect of bilateral electric stimulation of A10 dopaminergic neurons of the ventral tegmental area (80–300 μA, 20–50 Hz, 0.1–0.5 ms, 2 s duration) on latency and duration of the orienting response, evoked by acoustic stimuli (4500–8000 Hz, 2 s), was studied in the cat. A10 neuron stimulation, simultaneous with the acoustic one, was performed with threshold parameters inducing minimal behavioral signs (head searching movement, sniffing, increase in alertness). By means of a videoanalysis system, a statistically significant increase, both of latency and duration of the response, was observed. The possible role of dopamine was studied administrating sulpiride (20 mg/kg IP), a dopa…

Immunogenic hotspots in the spacer domain of ADAMTS13 in immune‐mediated thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura

2021

International audience; Background Immune-mediated thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (iTTP) is caused by anti-ADAMTS13 autoantibodies inducing a severe deficiency of ADAMTS13. Epitope mapping studies on samples obtained during acute iTTP episodes have shown that the iTTP immune response is polyclonal, with almost all patients having autoantibodies targeting the spacer domain of ADAMTS13.Objectives To identify the immunogenic hotspots in the spacer domain of ADAMTS13.Patients/methods A library of 11 full-length ADAMTS13 spacer hybrids was created in which amino acid regions of the spacer domain of ADAMTS13 were exchanged by the corresponding region of the spacer domain of ADAMTS1. Next, th…

Coupled fixed point results in cone metric spaces for -compatible mappings

2011

In this paper, we introduce the concepts of -compatible mappings, b-coupled coincidence point and b-common coupled fixed point for mappings F, G : X × X → X, where (X, d) is a cone metric space. We establish b-coupled coincidence and b-common coupled fixed point theorems in such spaces. The presented theorems generalize and extend several well-known comparable results in the literature, in particular the recent results of Abbas et al. [Appl. Math. Comput. 217, 195-202 (2010)]. Some examples are given to illustrate our obtained results. An application to the study of existence of solutions for a system of non-linear integral equations is also considered. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classificati…

Some contributions in disease mapping modeling

2020

Developing the "Choosing Health" Digital Weight Loss and Maintenance Intervention: Intervention Mapping Study

2022

Background Digital health promotion programs tailored to the individual are a potential cost-effective and scalable solution to enable self-management and provide support to people with excess body weight. However, solutions that are widely accessible, personalized, and theory- and evidence-based are still limited. Objective This study aimed to develop a digital behavior change program, Choosing Health, that could identify modifiable predictors of weight loss and maintenance for each individual and use these to provide tailored support. Methods We applied an Intervention Mapping protocol to design the program. This systematic approach to develop theory- and evidence-based health promotion …
