Common Fixed Point Theorems for Weakly Compatible Maps Satisfying a General Contractive Condition

We introduce a new generalized contractive condition for four mappings in the framework of metric space. We give some common fixed point results for these mappings and we deduce a fixed point result for weakly compatible mappings satisfying a contractive condition of integral type.

In this paper the authors show the relation between the definitions of Li-Yorke chaos and distributional chaos in discrete dynamical systems. In particular, after listing the main definitions and reviewing the known results, the authors prove that: • a discrete dynamical system is chaotic in the sense of Martelli and Wiggins when it exhibits transitive distributional chaos; • a discrete dynamical system is distributively chaotic in a sequence when it is chaotic in the strong sense of Li-Yorke. Finally, the authors prove a sufficient condition for the dynamical system to be chaotic in the strong sense of Li-Yorke.

Inhibitory activities of short linear motifs underlie Hox interactome specificity in vivo

Hox proteins are well-established developmental regulators that coordinate cell fate and morphogenesis throughout embryogenesis. In contrast, our knowledge of their specific molecular modes of action is limited to the interaction with few cofactors. Here, we show that Hox proteins are able to interact with a wide range of transcription factors in the live Drosophila embryo. In this context, specificity relies on a versatile usage of conserved short linear motifs (SLiMs), which, surprisingly, often restrains the interaction potential of Hox proteins. Islands of biogeodiversity in arid lands on a polygons map study: Detecting scale invariance patterns from natural resources maps.

Many maps (geology, hydrology, soil, vegetation, etc.) are created to inventory natural resources. Each of these resources is mapped using a unique set of criteria, including scales and taxonomies. Past research indicates that comparing results of related maps (e.g., soil and geology maps) may aid in identifying mapping deficiencies. Diffusion map for clustering fMRI spatial maps extracted by Indipendent Component Analysis

Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) produces data about activity inside the brain, from which spatial maps can be extracted by independent component analysis (ICA). In datasets, there are n spatial maps that contain p voxels. The number of voxels is very high compared to the number of analyzed spatial maps. Clustering of the spatial maps is usually based on correlation matrices. This usually works well, although such a similarity matrix inherently can explain only a certain amount of the total variance contained in the high-dimensional data where n is relatively small but p is large. Hybrid chaotic firefly decision making model for Parkinson’s disease diagnosis

Parkinson’s disease is found as a progressive neurodegenerative condition which affects motor circuit by the loss of up to 70% of dopaminergic neurons. Thus, diagnosing the early stages of incidence is of great importance. In this article, a novel chaos-based stochastic model is proposed by combining the characteristics of chaotic firefly algorithm with Kernel-based Naïve Bayes (KNB) algorithm for diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease at an early stage. Motivated by Rhoades (Nonlinear Anal., 47 (2001), 2683--2693), on the lines of Khan et al. (Bull. Aust. Math. Soc., 30 (1984), 1-9) employing the idea of altering distances, we extend the notion of (ϕ, ψ)-weak contraction to fuzzy metric spaces and utilize the same to prove common fixed point theorems for four mappings in fuzzy metric spaces.

p63 is an important regulator of epithelial development expressed in different variants containing (TA) or lacking (ΔN) the N-terminal transactivation domain.
