Nonlinear nonhomogeneous Neumann eigenvalue problems

We consider a nonlinear parametric Neumann problem driven by a nonhomogeneous differential operator with a reaction which is $(p-1)$-superlinear near $\pm\infty$ and exhibits concave terms near zero. We show that for all small values of the parameter, the problem has at least five solutions, four of constant sign and the fifth nodal. We also show the existence of extremal constant sign solutions.

En el presente artículo se da a conocer un hallazgo excepcional localizado en una de las áreas funerarias de la antigua capital de la Lusitania, Augusta Emerita. Concretamente se analizan funcional, tipológica y arqueométricamente una pixide malacológica que contenía durante el momento de su exhumación restos de su contenido. Además se aprovecha la ocasión para realizar un análisis contextual del hallazgo y se pone en relación con el fenómeno del cuidado femenino en época romana

Comparison of the H-alpha circumstellar disks in Be/X-ray binaries and Be stars

We present a comparative study of the circumstellar disks in Be/X-ray binaries and isolated Be stars based upon the H-alpha emission line. From this comparison it follows that the overall structure of the disks in the Be/X-ray binaries is similar to the disks of other Be stars, i.e. they are axisymmetric and rotationally supported. The factors for the line broadening (rotation and temperature) in the disks of the Be stars and the Be/X-ray binaries seem to be identical. This research explores oral health indicators and stable carbon and nitrogen isotope data to explore diet, and differences in diet, between people buried in the four different contexts of the St Gertrude Church cemetery (15th– 17th centuries AD): the general cemetery, two mass graves, and a collective mass burial pit within the general cemetery. The main aim is to assess whether people buried in the mass graves were rural immigrants, or if they were more likely to be the victims of plague (or another epidemic) who lived in Riga and its suburbs.
