From 2017, an unknown rural settlement in Contrada Castro at Corleone (Palermo Province, western Sicily) was investigated as part of the `Harvesting Memories Project¿. The stratigraphic sequence, supported by radiocarbon dating, has demonstrated a reoccupation of a pre-Roman site during the transition between the Byzantine and Islamic periods. In particular, the main occupation occurred in the late 8th¿9th century when pottery kilns and a probable warehouse were constructed. This tradition moved from the firsts scientific publications edited by the Mechitarist Congregation of San Lazzaro to Ca’ Foscari University’s first chair of Armenian Studies, led by father Levon Zekyan in 1976. During that year, Adriano Alpago Novello founded the Study and Documentation Centre of Armenian Culture that in 1992 moved from Milan to Venice. The present paper focuses on the legacy of Alpago Novello through the analysis of his working methods and results in the context of the history of Armenian art and architecture. Palaeodietary reconstruction using the carbon and nitrogen isotope values of bone and dentine collagen is a well-established method and the biochemical processes involved are well known. Researchers have recently explored using bulk samples of dental calculus as a substitute for bone and dentine collagen in dietary analyses, because calculus can be sampled without causing damage to the teeth, and may be useful in situations where more destructive analyses are not possible, or where collagen is poorly preserved. En aquest article donem a conèixer una sèrie de fragments epigràfics i arquitectònics conservats a l'espadanya de l'ajuntament d'Ares del Maestrat que possiblement pertanyien a l'antiga església gòtica, que fou destruïda l'any 1707 per l'exèrcit de Felip V en el curs de la guerra de Successió. Els primers pertanyen a una inscripció llatina de caràcter monumental, la lletra de la qual presenta els trets característics de l'epigrafia renaixentista; tot i que es troba molt incompleta, és palès el seu sentit religiós. Una de las contribuciones más importantes que el Profesor Pedro López Elum ha realizado acerca de la cerámica medieval valenciana ha sido el estudio sistemático de las fuentes documentales, esperamos con este trabajo ampliar nuestro conocimiento sobre su empleo en el ámbito arquitectónico, a partir de las investigaciones arqueológicas que actualmente estamos llevando a cabo en las cubiertas de las Iglesia de San Martín Obispo y San Antonio Abad de Valencia.
Las torres del portal de Cuarte de Valencia y su función carcelaria

Las torres de tos portales de Cuarte y de Serranos en la muralla cristiana de la ciudad de Valencia pudieron salvarse en la segunda mitad del Ochocientos a causa de albergar prisiones, mientras el resto del muro urbano estaba siendo inmolado. El presente artículo se ocupa de las primeras: sus comienzos constructivos y su historia penitenciaria desde el siglo XVII, así como su posterior destino guareciendo prisiones militares entre la década de 1820 y 1946. Además las torres de Cuarte fueron mudos testigos de ciertas reformas urbanas y otros acontecimientos. (A)
