Boosting for ranking data: an extension to item weighting
2021

The bromine nuclear quadrupole moment revisited
2013
For the bromine atom and the hydrogen bromide molecule, we report results for the electric-field gradient at the bromine nucleus based on quantum-chemical calculations. Highly accurate values are obtained by using coupled-cluster methods for the treatment of electron correlation, by minimising remaining basis-set effects through the use of large atomic-orbital sets, and by taking into account relativistic effects. For hydrogen bromide, zero-point vibrational corrections are considered as well. The obtained results for the bromine electric-field gradients are used to derive values for the Br-79 quadrupole moment: 308.1 and 309.3 mb based on data for the bromine atom and hydrogen bromide, res…
Brukeradopsjon av ACOS Individuell plan hos plankoordinatorene : En studie med kombinerte metoder om påvirkningsfaktorer for plankoordinatorenes bruk…
2018
Masteroppgave i helse- og sosialinformatikk HSI500 - Universitetet i Agder 2018 Individual care plan is a comprehensive plan to assist users in need of long-term and coordinated services. Individual care plan is one of several service areas in the municipality digitized for better flow of work procedures, lower costs and increased user involvement. The ACOS IP program enables electronic IP in the municipalities. The study has investigated which main factors affect the plan coordinators user adoption of ACOS IP. User adoption looks at why and how a program is used. The purpose is to look at it from the plan coordinator's perspective, but also how the management at the coordinating unit's fra…
Improved superresolution in coherent optical systems.
2001
Objects that temporally vary slowly can be superresolved by the use of two synchronized moving masks such as pinholes or gratings. This approach to superresolution allows one to exceed Abbe’s limit of resolution. Moreover, under coherent illumination, superresolution requires a certain approximation based on the time averaging of intensity rather than of field distribution. When extensive digital postprocessing can be incorporated into the optical system, a detector array and some postprocessing algorithms can replace the grating that is responsible for information decoding. In this way, no approximation is needed and the synchronization that is necessary when two gratings are used is simpl…
Superresolving optical system with time multiplexing and computer decoding
2008
Objects that have slow temporal variations may be superresolved with two moving masks such as pinhole or grating. The first mask is responsible for encoding the input image, and the second one performs the decoding operation. This approach is efficient for exceeding the resolving capability beyond Abbe’s limit of resolution. However, the proposed setup requires two physical gratings that should move in a synchronized manner. We propose what is believed to be a novel configuration in which the second grating responsible for the information decoding is replaced with a detector array and some postprocessing digital procedures. In this way the synchronization problem that exists when two gratin…
Instruction of Digital Reading Strategies Based on Eye-Movements Modeling Examples
2018
During the last decade, several studies have proposed and tested different instructional methods for teaching digital reading strategies to young students. In this study, we have tested the effectiveness of a program combining eye-movements modeling examples (EMMEs) and contrasting cases to instruct ninth-grade students how to plan, evaluate, and monitor their digital reading. EMMEs are videos that display a dot representing the eye movements of a model and an oral transcription of her thoughts while answering a specific question in a hypertext. Students in the EMME condition obtain higher comprehension scores in a posttest performed 1 week after the instruction, as compared with a control…
Miejsce międzypokoleniowego uczenia się w procesie hominizacji
2016
This article presents the results of a pilot and exploration study. The main objective of the research was to investigate the differences of intergenerational learning in the process of hominisation. For the purpose of the study the author used the quantitative strategy of research and author’s instrument of measurement. In the study participated 50 adult respondents from province opolskie. The research in question combines in a way such fields of knowledge as anthropology, pedagogics and psychology; the aim of the combination is to explore the processes which support the development of a human being in light of andragogy. Two conceptions have constituted the theoretical and methodological …
Trust and mistrust when students read multiple information sources about climate change
2011
Abstract The present study investigated how undergraduates judged the trustworthiness of different information sources that they read about climate change. Results showed that participants ( N = 128) judged information from textbook and official documents to be more trustworthy than information from newspapers and a commercial agent. Moreover, participants put most emphasis on content and least emphasis on date of publication when judging document trustworthiness. When judging the trustworthiness of the textbook, they emphasized criteria differently than when evaluating other types of documents. Results also indicated that readers low in topic knowledge were more likely to trust less trust…
