Application of the ESR spectroscopy to estimate the original dose in irradiated chicken bone

Abstract The paper discusses the results of an investigation aimed to use the ESR spectroscopy as a quantitative procedure to estimate the original dose in irradiated chicken. The time stability of the ESR signal was at first carried out, to obtain a correction factor to be applied to the dose estimated with the added dose method. Our results show that this procedure gives an estimation of the original dose within ±25%.

Progettazione di un irradiatore autocontenuto per la calibrazione di dosimetri personali a termoluminescenza

I dosimetri a termoluminescenza utilizzati nel campo della dosimetria personale necessitano – per un loro corretto impiego - di una preventiva fase di calibrazione, realizzata con dose-rate compresi tra 2,5 10-4 mGy/h e 0,01 mGy/h. Per ottenere valori di dose-rate in tale range, si è progettato un irradiatore autocontenuto e autoschermato di piccole dimensioni, utilizzante una sorgente di bassa attività.

In particular, this software can be used as a valid aid in design and analysis for a wide variety of windings with generic number of phases, pole pairs, slot number, etc.. Maximum Torque per Ampere Control strategy for low-saliency ratio IPMSMs

This paper deals with electrical drives employing low-saliency ratio interior permanent magnet synchronous motors. In particular, in order to help the designers choosing the best control algorithm, the performances of the Maximum Torque Per Ampere Control (MTPA) and the Field Orientation Control (FOC) are here both theoretically and experimentally assessed and compared, by using, as performance indicators, the torque-current ratio and the power losses. Modeling Right Ventricle Failure After Continuous Flow Left Ventricular Assist Device: A Biventricular Finite-Element and Lumped-Parameter Analysis

The risk of right ventricle (RV) failure remains a major contraindication for continuous-flow left ventricular assist device (CF-LVAD) implantation in patients with heart failure. It is therefore critical to identify the patients who will benefit from early intervention to avoid adverse outcomes. We sought to advance the computational modeling description of the mechanisms underlying RV failure in LVAD-supported patients.
