Organisational learning capability, product innovation performance and export intensity

The hypothesis that managerial characteristics which facilitate the organisational learning process can provide firms with a basis for competitive advantage has received a great deal of attention. While there is evidence that organisational learning affects export intensity, we argue that intermediate variables, such as innovation, should be used in order to evaluate its impact in organisations. Knowledge management and innovation performance in a high-tech SMEs industry

This article examines how knowledge management (KM) affects innovation performance within biotechnology firms. This is an industry in which small- and medium-sized biotech enterprises live together with the biotech divisions of large pharmaceutical firms. We conceptualize KM as a set of practices and dynamic capabilities, and hypothesize that KM dynamic capabilities act as a mediating variable between KM practices and innovation performance. We use structural equation modelling to test the hypotheses on a data set from the biotechnology industry. The development of tools to support semantic resolution is a key issue in the design of heterogeneous interoperable information systems. This paper presents a methodology and a data model translator toolkit, called X-TIME, for the design and management of interoperable information systems. X-TIME combines a metamodelling approach and XML features to provide support for automated design of wrappers or semantic reconciliators. Structure from Motion (SfM) techniques constitute a very fertile field of investigation within the research of the surveying sector and that of the representation of architecture. They allow us to reach higher levels of reliability and accuracy, both metric and graphical, extremely quickly and with lower costs than other methods, including the laser scanner. In this study, we report the results of some experiments carried out on the southern Portico entrance of the Cathedral of Palermo through the use of the SfM techniques later validated by comparison with the point cloud obtained from laser scanning.
