Modeling of low-noise microwave HEMTs for CAD-oriented applications

The simultaneous determination of noise, gain and scattering parameters through a computer-driven noise figure measuring system allowed the rapid and accurate characterization of several samples of low noise HEMTs of the same family. From the measured parameters an equivalent circuit model representing the behavior of the typical device is extracted by means of a decomposition approach. Comparison between the model performance and the set of measured parameters of all devices are reported for the FHR 02FH (by Fujitsu). The modeling procedure is mainly oriented to the CAD of (M)MIC low noise wideband amplifiers. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

AbstractBoreal lakes with soft water and low buffering capacity are susceptible to excess ion loading resulting from metal mining. The impact of two Finish mining sites in downstream lakes was assessed with a chronic sediment toxicity test using a laboratory-reared freshwater Lumbriculus variegatus (Oligochaeta). The test organisms were exposed to mining-contaminated natural lake sediments and hypolimnion water (HLW) or artificial freshwater (AFW) as overlying water in two independent experimental setups. The sorption efficiency and possible secondary effects of activated carbon (AC) (o 63-200 μm) was studied with Lumbriculus variegatus in three PCB contaminated sediments applying long AC-sediment contact time (3 years). AC amendment efficiently reduced PCB bioavailability as determined with both, L. variegatus bioaccumulation test and passive samplers. However, dose related secondary effects of AC on egestion rate and biomass were observed (applied doses 0.25% and 2.5% sediment dry weight). Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide, causing nearly one million deaths each year. Herein, we present the effect of 2-methoxyestradiol (2-ME), the endogenous metabolite of 17β-estradiol (E2), on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. We observed that 2-ME reduced the viability of lung adenocarcinoma in two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) spheroidal A549 cell culture models. This review encompasses the most important advances in liver functions and hepatotoxicity and analyzes which mechanisms can be studied in vitro. In a complex architecture of nested, zonated lobules, the liver consists of approximately 80 % hepatocytes and 20 % non-parenchymal cells, the latter being involved in a secondary phase that may dramatically aggravate the initial damage. The paper reports the main results of a respirometric experimental survey carried out on several membrane bioreactor pilot plants, characterized by different pilot plant layouts as well as operational conditions. The main aim was to assess the influence of specific conditions on biokinetic/stoichiometric parameters. Climatic and tectonic processes are major mechanisms influencing tropical carbonate platform development, sediment production and sediment export. Mass transport deposits (including slides, slumps and debrites) and calciturbidites are some of the sediment export products resulting from the interplay of aforementioned redeposition mechanisms.
