Growth of two-dimensional Au patches in graphene pores: A density-functional study

Inspired by recent studies of various two-dimensional (2D) metals such as Au, Fe and Ag, we study the growth of two-dimensional gold patches in graphene pores by density-functional theory. We find that at room temperature gold atoms diffuse readily on top of both graphene and two-dimensional gold with energy barriers less than $0.5$ eV. Furthermore, gold atoms move without barriers from the top of graphene to its edge and from the top of 2D gold to its edge. The energy barriers are absent even at the interface of 2D gold and graphene, so that the gold atoms move effortlessly across the interface. In order to ensure the concentration, compliance and motivation of the participants, a short version of 12 items was extracted from the “Experiences in Close Relationships Questionnaire (ECR)”. Even though this short English version shows equally good validity and reliability as the long version, there have been no representative norm values and psychometric characteristics available for the short version in German. Drawing on social resource theory and the norm of equity, this research proposes fairness of task distribution as a mediating mechanism of the well-established relationship between transformational leadership and followers’ well-being, conceptualizing the latter as low emotional exhaustion. Using data from 479 German employees in a three-wave longitudinal study, we found transformational leadership to be related to fair task distribution over time. Variable-oriented analyses (structural equation modeling with a multigroup procedure) supported the spillover hypothesis, as higher levels of satisfaction in the spousal relationship were related to higher quality in the parent-child relationship and lower parental role restrictions.
