Carles Soldevila ironista: «Valentina»
2016

2018
The study highlights the originality of Consol's stylistic experimentation and examines the iconological construction of novels. The adoption of an iconic perspective is the rhetorical strategy with which the Sicilian author formalizes techniques of metaphorical irradiation and analogical sequences. The problematic intensity of the historic invention is set out in a complex mesh of symmetries and antitheses among pictorial and narrative symbols, and is articulated as metonymic flow of images that are able to show materials and forms of the modern novel.

"Ich werde euch ein anderes Abenteuer erzählen..." Die Parodie des Landadel-Romans in Witold Gombrowiczs Autorschaft
2021
On the one hand, “Sarmatian culture” in Poland led to a cultural syncretism blossoming on a large scale; on the other hand, culture closed in, Poland moved inwards in terms of civilisation and space – “provincial art” blossomed and the church congregation became the central cell of administrative and intellectual life. These elements are taken up in Gombrowicz’s “Pornography” and in the process – typical of Gombrowicz’s work – the Polish national tradition (here Sarmatism) becomes a parodic template and a game with the reader.
2022
A reading of the historical novel Francisco Pizarro, written by the Peruvian Rosa Arciniega in 1936, is proposed. Through the analysis of the work, we will reflect on the relationship of the writer with the national historiography and with the ideal of a woman who dominated Latin American political and cultural discourse in the first half of the 20th century. From this, we seek to identify the place that the author constructs for herself within the intellectual field.

2015
The study begins with an analysis of the reasons why the images of the American version of Murena are censored, with modest veils being thrown upon any instance of nudity while this version rather emphasizes the violence of the graphic novel in its translation and adaptation choices. That paradoxical attitude is discussed in the context of the ambiguities developed in the US culture as regards the representation of nudity being a reminder of the human species’ animal dimension in a society still fraught with puritanical assumptions. Although those ambiguous choices may be ascribed to the publisher’s wish to adapt Murena to the young readers regarded as their main target, they may also repre…
