E' un'idea largamente diffusa che la Grande Vienna sia stato uno dei cruciali laboratori del Novecento.Questo studio della Vienna tra fine Ottocento e avvento nazista, che mette assieme la storia, la storia della musica e la musicologia, la storia della cultura e quella sociale, lo riafferma. Ma lo riconsidera, guardandolo dalla prospettiva di una esperienza particolare. Si tratta del grandioso tentativo, da parte della socialdemocrazia e dei teorici dell'austromarxismo di fare del proletariato l'erede della tradizione musicale viennese, e attraverso questo, erede della cultura classica tedesca.

The aim of this paper is to estimate the authors’ rights collection frontier within the collection zones into which the Valencia Region (Spain) has been divided. To be more exact, a nonparametric frontier technique (Modified Data Envelopment Analysis, MDEA) and the Principal Components Analysis (PCA) are jointly employed to map out an initial approach to the potential authors’ rights collection within this region (as divided into collection zones). Characterizing and estimating soil memory and persistence from satellite observations is of paramount relevance, and has deep implications in ecology, water management, and climate modeling. Operator splitting methods for American option pricing

Abstract We propose operator splitting methods for solving the linear complementarity problems arising from the pricing of American options. The space discretization of the underlying Black-Scholes Scholes equation is done using a central finite-difference scheme. The time discretization as well as the operator splittings are based on the Crank-Nicolson method and the two-step backward differentiation formula. Numerical experiments show that the operator splitting methodology is much more efficient than the projected SOR, while the accuracy of both methods are similar.
