γ‐Agregation operators and some aspects of generalized aggregation problem

We explore questions related to the aggregation operators and aggregation of fuzzy sets. No preliminary knowledge of the aggregation operators theory and of the fuzzy sets theory are required, because all necessary information is given in Section 2. Later we introduce a new class of γ‐aggregation operators, which “ignore” arguments less than γ. Due to this property γ‐aggregation operators simplify the aggregation process and extend the area of possible applications. Ship Roll Motion under Stochastic Agencies Using Path Integral Method

The response of ship roll oscillation under random ice impulsive loads modeled by Poisson arrival process is very important in studying the safety of ships navigation in cold regions. Under both external and parametric random excitations the evolution of the probability density function of roll motion is evaluated using the path integral (PI) approach. The PI method relies on the Chapman-Kolmogorov equation, which governs the response transition probability density functions at two close intervals of time. Determining exhaust fumes exposure in chainsaw operations

Abstract The objective of this study was to investigate the inhalation exposure of forest operators to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes) contained in the exhaust fumes released from chainsaws and to suggest possible countermeasures. The study was carried out in four silvicultural treatments (coppice clearcut, conifer thinning, conifer pruning, and sanitary cut), using three types of chainsaw fuel (normal two-stroke petrol mix and two alkylate fuels). Spectrum of composition operators on S(R) with polynomial symbols

Abstract We study the spectrum of operators in the Schwartz space of rapidly decreasing functions which associate each function with its composition with a polynomial. In the case where this operator is mean ergodic we prove that its spectrum reduces to {0}, while the spectrum of any non mean ergodic composition operator with a polynomial always contains the closed unit disc except perhaps the origin. We obtain a complete description of the spectrum of the composition operator with a quadratic polynomial or a cubic polynomial with positive leading coefficient.

Three solutions for parametric problems with nonhomogeneous (a,2)-type differential operators and reaction terms sublinear at zero

Abstract We consider parametric Dirichlet problems driven by the sum of a Laplacian and a nonhomogeneous differential operator ( ( a , 2 ) -type equation) and with a reaction term which exhibits arbitrary polynomial growth and a nonlinear dependence on the parameter. We prove the existence of three distinct nontrivial smooth solutions for small values of the parameter, providing sign information for them: one is positive, one is negative and the third one is nodal.

Positive solutions of discrete boundary value problems with the (p,q)-Laplacian operator

We consider a discrete Dirichlet boundary value problem of equations with the (p,q)-Laplacian operator in the principal part and prove the existence of at least two positive solutions. The assumptions on the reaction term ensure that the Euler-Lagrange functional, corresponding to the problem, satisfies an abstract two critical points result.

A singular (p,q)-equation with convection and a locally defined perturbation

We consider a parametric Dirichlet problem driven by the (p,q)-Laplacian and a reaction which is gradient dependent (convection) and the competing effects of two more terms, one a parametric singular term and a locally defined perturbation. We show that for all small values of the parameter the problem has a positive smooth solution.

Even if Leibniz didn’t have the opportunity to actually conceive an explicit modal logic system, remains the fact that he had worked out a modal metaphysics, of which the inaugural act, in his Elementa juris naturalis (c. 1671) was an obvious reference to the Apulean square of opposition. Later, scholars acknowledged in this passage probably one of the first sketch of deontic logic of norms.
