Analytic Bergman operators in the semiclassical limit
2018
Transposing the Berezin quantization into the setting of analytic microlocal analysis, we construct approximate semiclassical Bergman projections on weighted $L^2$ spaces with analytic weights, and show that their kernel functions admit an asymptotic expansion in the class of analytic symbols. As a corollary, we obtain new estimates for asymptotic expansions of the Bergman kernel on $\mathbb{C}^n$ and for high powers of ample holomorphic line bundles over compact complex manifolds.
On the Estimate for Commutators in DiPerna–Lions Theory
2011
In this note, we will exhibit the estimates on the commutator of semi-groups, motivated by commutator estimates in Di Perna-Lions theory.
On the Cauchy problem for microlocally symmetrizable hyperbolic systems with log-Lipschitz coefficients
2017
International audience; The present paper concerns the well-posedness of the Cauchy problem for microlocally symmetrizable hyperbolic systems whose coefficients and symmetrizer are log-Lipschitz continuous, uniformly in time and space variables. For the global in space problem we establish energy estimates with finite loss of derivatives, which is linearly increasing in time. This implies well-posedness in H ∞ , if the coefficients enjoy enough smoothness in x. From this result, by standard arguments (i.e. extension and convexification) we deduce also local existence and uniqueness. A huge part of the analysis is devoted to give an appropriate sense to the Cauchy problem, which is not evide…
Solutions and positive solutions for superlinear Robin problems
2019
We consider nonlinear, nonhomogeneous Robin problems with a (p − 1)-superlinear reaction term, which need not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. We look for positive solutions and prove existence and multiplicity theorems. For the particular case of the p-Laplacian, we prove existence results under a different geometry near the origin. We consider nonlinear, nonhomogeneous Robin problems with a (p − 1)-superlinear reaction term, which need not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. A multiplicity theorem for parametric superlinear (p,q)-equations
2020
We consider a parametric nonlinear Robin problem driven by the sum of a \(p\)-Laplacian and of a \(q\)-Laplacian (\((p,q)\)-equation). The reaction term is \((p-1)\)-superlinear but need not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. Using variational tools, together with truncation and comparison techniques and critical groups, we show that for all small values of the parameter, the problem has at least five nontrivial smooth solutions, all with sign information.
$C^{1,}$ regularity for the normalized $p$-Poisson problem
2017
We consider the normalized $p$-Poisson problem $$-^N_p u=f \qquad \text{in}\quad .$$ The normalized $p$-Laplacian $_p^{N}u:=|D u|^{2-p}_p u$ is in non-divergence form and arises for example from stochastic games. We prove $C^{1,}_{loc}$ regularity with nearly optimal $$ for viscosity solutions of this problem. In the case $f\in L^{\infty}\cap C$ and $p>1$ we use methods both from viscosity and weak theory, whereas in the case $f\in L^q\cap C$, $q>\max(n,\frac p2,2)$, and $p>2$ we rely on the tools of nonlinear potential theory.
Optimal lower bounds for eigenvalues of linear and nonlinear Neumann problems
2013
In this paper we prove a sharp lower bound for the first non-trivial Neumann eigenvalue μ1(Ω) for the p-Laplace operator (p > 1) in a Lipschitz bounded domain Ω in ℝn. Our estimate does not require any convexity assumption on Ω and it involves the best isoperimetric constant relative to Ω. In a suitable class of convex planar domains, our bound turns out to be better than the one provided by the Payne—Weinberger inequality.
A Quasilinear Parabolic Equation with Quadratic Growth of the Gradient modeling Incomplete Financial Markets
2004
We consider a quasilinear parabolic equation with quadratic gradient terms. It arises in the modeling of an optimal portfolio which maximizes the expected utility from terminal wealth in incomplete markets consisting of risky assets and non-tradable state variables. The existence of solutions is shown by extending the monotonicity method of Frehse. Furthermore, we prove the uniqueness of weak solutions under a smallness condition on the derivatives of the covariance matrices with respect to the solution. The in influence of the non-tradable state variables on the optimal value function is illustrated by a numerical example.
Single-input perturbative control of a quantum symmetric rotor
2022
We consider the Schr\"odinger partial differential equation of a rotating symmetric rigid molecule (symmetric rotor) driven by a z-linearly polarized electric field, as prototype of degenerate infinite-dimensional bilinear control system. By introducing an abstract perturbative criterium, we classify its simultaneous approximate controllability; based on this insight, we numerically perform an orientational selective transfer of rotational population.
