The history of science has taken a “geographical turn” at the turn of this century. Since then, historians of science have sought to understand the impact of geography on the practice, organisation and diffusion of scientific knowledge. In this paper, I look into the organisation of amateur science in provincial England through the scales of local, regional and national. The scientific societies established in the Victorian Midlands provide an excellent material to understand the close relationship between the natural history societies and geography, which has usually been taken for granted. Koniecznym więc jest przekazywanie tego typu wiedzy studentom wyższych uczelni, gdyż pomoże im ona w lepszym zrozumieniu otaczającego nas świata w powiązaniu z kierunkiem stanowiącym przedmiot ich studiów.

A més, tractem de relacionar les posicions d'aquests valencians amb el conjunt del moviment reinaixencista i amb la consciència de comunitat lingüística compartida amb catalans, balears i nordcatalans. Normativity, moral realism, and unmasking explanations

Moral Projectivism must be able to specify under what conditions a certain inner response counts as a moral response. I argue, however, that moral projectivists cannot coherently do so because they must assume that there are moral properties in the world in order to fix the content of our moral judgements. To show this, I develop a number of arguments against moral dispositionalism, which is, nowadays, the most prom- ising version of moral projectivism. In this context, I call into question both David Lewis' dispositionalist account of colour and Chistine Korsgaard's procedural realism.

The setting of “The Transition of Juan Romero” – the short story by Howard Phillips Lovecraft, who was the originator of modern American horror fiction – is “the gold mine in the Cactus Range”. Drawing on the theories of Carl Gustav Jung, the author of the present interpretation amplifies the cultural dimensions of Lovecraft’s text, giving prominence to its origin from the ancient myths of the Aztecs, and using the so-called psychological alchemy to show the archetypal symbolism and structure of the story.
