Introduction: Cannabis is one of the most common substances used by patients with a first episode of psychosis. The aim of the study was to investigate the most frequent effects of cannabis use, their relationship with psychotic symptoms and characteristics of the consumption. Methods: 116 first episode psychosis were recruited, 50% of which (n=58) used cannabis lifetime. We investigated the characteristics of the consumption and the effects of cannabis using the Cannabis Experience Questionnaire-mv (CEQmv) and the psychotic symptoms using the Positive and Negative Symptoms Scale (PANSS). L'articolo presenta un lavoro di progettazione, un workshop, sull'ospedale psichiatrico di Palermo, svolto all'interno della ricerca PRIN sugli ospedali italiani tra Ottocento e Novecento. Il gruppo da me coordinato era l'unico con maggioranza di docenti di Composizione, quindi si è data una indicazione sul possibile futuro di questi complessi, di cui quello di Palazzotto a Palermo è certo uno dei più completi e significativi.

On the relations between parents’ and children’s implicit and explicit academic gender stereotypes.

Although parents may represent influential sources of children’s gender stereotypes, to date no study has directly investigated the relations between parents’ and children’s gender stereotypes regarding academic abilities. Aiming at filling this gap, in the present study parents’ and their young children’s gender stereotypes about math and language were assessed using both explicit and implicit measures for each member of the family. Changes in family systems have concerned norms, roles and relational styles. The presence of a trans-sexual father or mother represents a specific condition in the parenting function. When a parent decides to come out about his or her transsexualism, the process of disclosure becomes a family issue and this coming-out may cause, in the transsexual’s partner, sexual rejection, disillusion, anger, identity crisis, alteration in one’s system of beliefs and concern for one’s children.
