Partial Discharges Diagnostics Along Medium Voltage Cables

In the last years different partial discharge (PD) measuring techniques have been developed because PD diagnostic is the most widely tool to evaluate the insulation condition of a power cable. Recently non-conventional methods and sensors have been used in order to reach improved results in PD measurements. New sensors based on wireless technology were developed in order to simplify PD measurement especially for on-line, on-site diagnosis. Application of silicon-based camera for measurement of non-homogeneous thermal field on realistic specimen surface

Abstract The high-cost low-resolution infrared cameras operating in middle infrared spectral ranges are widely used to detect the thermal fields. In this study, a low-cost high-resolution silicon-based sensor camera operating in near infrared spectral ranges is used to perform the observation of the thermal fields on the realistic steel specimen surface. In near-infrared spectral ranges, a small temperature variation led to a large modification in the sensor illumination, inducing acquired images with over saturation or poor dynamic range of gray levels. A New Statistical Reconstruction Method for the Computed Tomography Using an X-Ray Tube with Flying Focal Spot

Abstract This paper presents a new image reconstruction method for spiral cone- beam tomography scanners in which an X-ray tube with a flying focal spot is used. The method is based on principles related to the statistical model-based iterative reconstruction (MBIR) methodology. The proposed approach is a continuous-to-continuous data model approach, and the forward model is formulated as a shift-invariant system. The meniscus plays a critical role in load transmission, stability and energy dissipation in the knee joint. Loss of the meniscus leads to joint degeneration and osteoarthritis. In a number of cases replacement of the resected meniscal tissue by a synthetic implant might avoid the articular cartilage degeneration. The fundamental phenomenon that has been used to enhance the convergence speed of learning automata (LA) is that of incorporating the running maximum likelihood (ML) estimates of the action reward probabilities into the probability updating rules for selecting the actions.
