Este trabajo estudia los antecedentes medievales del núcleo urbano del Grao y del puerto de Valencia para centrarse en la situación en la Edad Moderna, marcada por la falta de una sólida infraestructura portuaria, a pesar de la intensa actividad naval y mercantil y de las necesidades de defensa de la costa de Valencia. This paper studies late medieval precedents of the town of el Grao and Valencia harbour to focus in their situation in Early Modern age, defined with the lack of solid port facilities, spite of intenese naval and commercial activity and of defense needs in Valencian coast.
