Healthy Aging and Sentence Production: Disrupted Lexical Access in the Context of Intact Syntactic Planning.

2020

AbstractHealthy ageing does not affect all features of language processing equally. In this study, we investigated the effects of ageing on different processes involved in fluent sentence production, a complex task that requires the successful execution and coordination of multiple processes. In Experiment 1, we investigated age-related effects on the speed of syntax selection using a syntactic priming paradigm. Both young and older adults produced target sentences quicker following syntactically related primes compared to unrelated primes, indicating that syntactic facilitation effects are preserved with age. In Experiment 2, we investigated age-related effects in syntactic planning and le…

Four-jet final state production in e+e- collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 130 and 136 GeV

1996

The four-jet final state is analyzed to search for hadronic decays of pair-produced heavy particles. The analysis uses the ALEPH data collected at LEP in November 1995 at centre-of-mass energies of 130 and 136 GeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 5.7 pb(-1). An excess of four-jet events is observed with respect to the standard model predictions. In addition, these events exhibit an enhancement in the sum of the two di-jet masses around 105 GeV/c(2). The properties of these events are studied and compared to the expectations from standard processes and to pair production hypotheses. On pair production of scalar top quarks in e+e- collisions at ILC and a possibility of their mass reconstruction

2009

We study pair production of scalar top quarks in e+e- collisions with the subsequent decay of the top squarks into b-quarks and charginos. We simulate this process by using PYTHIA6.4 for the beam energy 2Ebeam = 350, 400, 500, 800, 1000 GeV. A set of criteria for physical variables is proposed, which provides good separation of stop signal events from top quark pair production being the main background. These criteria allow us to reconstruct the mass of the top squark with an integrared luminosity of 1000 1/fb provided that the neutralino mass is known.

Microbial characterisation of fermented meat productions from the Sicilian breed "Suino Nero dei Nebrodi"

2012

Two traditional sausage products (“salsiccia” and “salame”) processed from the raw meat of the Black Sicilian swine “Suino Nero dei Nebrodi” were microbiologically investigated during the manufacturing and ripening stages. Both products were dominated by lactic acid bacteria (LAB), especially rod-shaped types. The concentration of enterococci was consistent in salame. Coagulase-negative cocci increased slower than LAB. Yeasts showed an increasing trend during the ripening of both products. Enterobacteriaceae were counted at a constant level of about 105 CFU/g in both products, while pseudomonads diminished during ripening. Coagulase-positive staphylococci, Listeria monocytogenes and Salmone…

Observation of an Excited Charm BaryonΩc*Decaying toΩc0γ

2006

We report the first observation of an excited singly-charm baryon OmegaC* (css) in the radiative decay OmegaC0 Gamma, where the OmegaC0 baryon is reconstructed in the decays to the final states Omega-pi+, Omega-pi+pi0, Omega-pi+pi-pi+, and Cascade-K-pi+pi+. This analysis is performed using a dataset of 230.7 fb$-1} collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The mass difference between the OmegaC* and the OmegaC0 baryons is measured to be 70.8 +/- 1.0 (stat) +/- 1.1 (syst) MeV/c2. We also measure the ratio of inclusive production cross sections of OmegaC* and OmegaC0 in e+e- annihilation.

The Technological Evaluation of Sourdoughs Prepared in Different Conditions

2015

Abstract The use of sourdough in bread production lead to development of safe, healthy and more palatable product and also contribute to the sustainability of breadmaking through low demands for additives and preservatives. Sourdoughs type I were obtained with different flour: water ratio: 1:0.6; 1:1; 1:2 and 1:3 and different refreshment ratio 1:3 and 1:4. The sourdough were evaluated for theirs pH, Total Titratable Acidity (TTA), lactic and acetic contents, gas production power. The use of low water level induce a higher TTA and pH but the yield of acid production was more favourable for the sourdough with higher water content. The higher water content was favourable to formation of lacti…

Search for Pair Production of Supersymmetric Top Quarks in Dilepton Events frompp¯Collisions ats=1.96  TeV

2010

We present the results of a search for pair production of the supersymmetric partner of the top quark (the top squark (t) over tilde (1)) decaying to a b quark and a chargino (chi) over tilde (+/-)(1) with a subsequent (chi) over tilde (+/-)(1) decay into a neutralino (chi) over tilde (0)(1), lepton l, and neutrino nu Using a data sample corresponding to 2.7 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity of p (p) over bar collisions at root s = 1: 96 TeV collected by the CDF II detector, we reconstruct the mass of top squark candidate events and fit the observed mass spectrum to a combination of standard model processes and (t) over tilde (1)(t) over tilde (1). We find no evidence for (t) over tilde (1)(t…

Search for light top squark pair production in final states with leptons and b-jets with the ATLAS detector in s=7 TeV proton–proton collisions

2013

The results of a search for pair production of light top squarks are presented, using 4.7 fb(-1) of root s = 7 TeV proton-proton collisions collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. This search targets top squarks with masses similar to, or lighter than, the top quark mass. Final states containing exclusively one or two leptons (e, mu), large missing transverse momentum, light-flavour jets and b-jets are used to reconstruct the top squark pair system. Event-based mass scale variables are used to separate the signal from a large t (t) over bar background. No excess over the Standard Model expectations is found. The results are interpreted in the framework of the Minimal…

Measurement of the top pair production cross section in 8 TeV proton-proton collisions using kinematic information in thelepton+jetsfinal state with …

2015

A measurement is presented of the (tt) over bar inclusive production cross section in pp collisions at a center-ofmass energy of pffisffiffi root s = 8 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The measurement was performed in the lepton + jets final state using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb(-1). The cross section was obtained using a likelihood discriminant fit and b-jet identification was used to improve the signal-to-background ratio. The inclusive (tt) over bar production cross section was measured to be 260 +/- 1(stat)(-23)(+22)(stat) +/- 8(lumi) +/- 4(beam) pb assuming a top-quark mass of 172.5 GeV, in good agre…

Measurement of the charge asymmetry in top quark pair production in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV using the ATLAS detector

2012

A measurement of the top-antitop production charge asymmetry A[subscript C] is presented using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.04 fb[superscript −1] of pp collisions at s√=7 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Events are selected with a single lepton (electron or muon), missing transverse momentum and at least four jets of which at least one jet is identified as coming from a b-quark. A kinematic fit is used to reconstruct the t[bar over t] event topology. After background subtraction, a Bayesian unfolding procedure is performed to correct for acceptance and detector effects. The measured value of A[subscript C] is A[subscript C]=−0.019±0.028 (stat.)±0.024 (s…
