Durant la première moitié du XIXè siècle en Grande-Bretagne, le débat politique sur l’élargissement du suffrage révèle des approches divergentes sur les critères d’acquisition du statut de citoyen britannique. Cette présentation met en lumière la domination du discours conservateur et libéral durant les discussions parlementaires au sujet de l’extension du corps électoral du pays en 1832. Das Buch befasst sich mit dem Zusammenspiel von kognitiven, emotionalen und motivationalen Faktoren beim Aufbau von mündlicher Kompetenz in Deutsch als Tertiärsprache bei erwachsenen Italienern. Es stützt sich dabei auf ein interdisziplinäres Vorgehen, das theoretisch erörtert und in seiner Methodenwahl ausführlich dargelegt wird, insbesondere die Videografie sowie intro-/retrospektive Verfahren. Die Ergebnisse der Studie veranschaulichen die Lernprozesse einmal klassenübergreifend, zum anderen erfolgt eine detaillierte Analyse der einzelnen Lernenden. Experimental observations of upstream overdeepening

The issue of morphodynamic influence in meandering streams is investigated through a series of laboratory experiments on curved and straight flumes. Both qualitative and quantitative observations confirm the suitability of the recent theoretical developments (Zolezzi & Seminara 2001) that indicate the occurrence of two distinct regimes of morphodynamic influence, depending on the value of the width ratio of the channel β. The threshold value βR separating the upstream from the downstream influence regimes coincides with the resonant value discovered by Blondeaux & Seminara (1985). Two different sets of experiments have been designed where a discontinuity in channel geometry was present such that the channel morphodynamics was influenced in the upstream direction under super-resonant conditions (β >βR) and in the downstream direction under sub-resonant conditions (β <βR). Use of the Apparent Content Curves for the spectrophotometric identification of substances: identification of amphetamines

The possibility of identification of substances which have similar spectral behaviour by means of Apparent Content Curves has been studied. This study is carried out with absorption, excitation and emission spectra of several amphetamines of widespread pharmaceutical use. Results obtained show that amphetamine, phenylpropanolamine, pseudoephedrine, phenylephrine, epinephrine, dopamine and methoxyamphetamine can be identified with a probability of >95%.

A new fast and fault-tolerant identification algorithm for spectral databases

1995

A new method for an automatic, computer and database driven identification of UV/VIS spectra is described. It is shown that an identification algorithm must consider the spectral differences as well as their common features. The described identification method allows identifications, even if the spectra are distorted or shifted.
