Structure Effect of Imidazolium-Based Dicationic Ionic Liquids on Claisen Rearrangement

2014

A large group of imidazolium-based dicationic ionic liquids (DILs) has been prepared in good yields. Thermal stability of all DILs has been determined. The effects of the reaction time, cation, imidazolium C2–H acidity, and anion on the Claisen rearrangement of allyl phenyl ether have been investigated. Type of anion and the presence of the acidic C2–H bond in the imidazolium moieties have proven to be essential for this reaction. The simple procedure and the possibility of avoiding the use catalysts and volatile organic solvents make this synthetic method environmentally benign and adaptable for large-scale applications.

Recent Advances in Asymmetric [3,3]-Sigmatropic Rearrangements.

2003

The synthesis of new complex structures is still a challenge in preparative organic chemistry. Focusing on the generation of defined stereogenic centers, the [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangements are known as reliable reactions. Always, a highly ordered transition state must be passed through, which allows the shift of chiral information from the reactant into the nascent product. Generally, the complete [1,3]- and, frequently, the [1,4]-chirality transfer enables one to predict the configuration of the new centers. This review focuses on Claisen and Cope rearrangements, which adopt the chiral information via a so termed asymmetric induction. This means, that the directing chiral subunit is plac…

A short synthesis of pyridines from deprotonated α-aminonitriles by an alkylation/RCM sequence

2016

Abstract α-Aminonitriles can serve as versatile key precursors for the synthesis of nitrogen containing heterocycles. After unsuccessful trials involving the [1,2]-Stevens rearrangement of nitrile-stabilized ammonium ylides, we herein report a simple three-step synthesis of substituted pyridines based on an alkylation/ring-closing metathesis/aromatization sequence.

Acid-induced rearrangement of epoxygermacra-8,12-olides: synthesis and absolute configuration of guaiane and eudesmane derivatives from artemisiifolin

2010

A study on the acid-induced rearrangement of 4,5-epoxy- and 1,10-epoxygermacra-8,12-olides was carried out. From a 4,5-epoxy derivative, guaianes were obtained, whereas 1,10-epoxy derivatives furnished, depending on the stereochemistry of the C-1/C-10 epoxy ring, trans-5β,10α- or trans-5α,10β-eudesmanolides.

Specific Heat and Transport Functions of Water

2020

Numerous water characteristics are essentially ascribed to its peculiarity to form stronghydrogen bonds that become progressively more stable on decreasing the temperature. However, thestructural and dynamical implications of the molecular rearrangement are still subject of debate andintense studies. In this work, we observe that the thermodynamic characteristics of liquid water arestrictly connected to its dynamic characteristics. In particular, we compare the thermal behaviourof the isobaric specific heat of water, measured in different confinement conditions at atmosphericpressure (and evaluated by means of theoretical studies) with its configurational contribution obtainedfrom the value…

Fragmentations and reactions of some isotopically labelled dimethyl methyl phosphono and trimethyl phosphoro thiolates and thionates studied by elect…

2005

In this paper, studies on electrospray ionisation ion trap mass spectrometry of organophosphates are extended to a series of dimethyl methylphosphono and trimethyl phosphoro thionates and thiolates and some deuterated isotopomers. Of particular, interest is the comparison of the collision-induced fragmentation of ions from these compounds with those of the non-sulphur containing analogues reported previously. The thiono and thiolo isomeric structures of the sulphur containing ions analogous to I and II (see below) have very similar energies and undergo a ready interconversion. In the case of the phosphono compounds, the electronic structure calculations show that the methyl migration implic…

An ANRORC approach to the synthesis of perfluoroalkylated 1,2,4-triazole-carboxamides

2009

A series of perfluoroalkyl-1,2,4-triazole-carboxamides has been obtained through an ANRORClike rearrangement (Addition of Nucleophile, Ring-Opening and Ring-Closure) of 5- perfluoroalkyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole-3-carboxamides with methylhydrazine or hydrazine. The initial addition of the bidentate nucleophile to the electrophilic C(5) of the 1,2,4-oxadiazole ring, followed by ring opening and ring closure, leads to the formation of triazoles in good yield under mild experimental conditions. In some cases, a competitive ANRORC-enlargement reaction to form 1,2,4-triazin-6-ones was also observed. Obtained carboxamidotriazoles have also been explored as precursors for the synthesis of 3(5)-perfluoroal…
