Non Linear Systems Under Complex α-Stable Le´vy White Noise

The problem of predicting the response of linear and nonlinear systems under Levy white noises is examined. A method of analysis is proposed based on the observation that these processes have impulsive character, so that the methods already used for Poisson white noise or normal white noise may be also recast for Levy white noises. Since both the input and output processes have no moments of order two and higher, the response is here evaluated in terms of characteristic function.Copyright © 2003 by ASME
High-precision measurement of the mass difference between 102Pd and 102Ru

Abstract The Q-value for the neutrinoless double electron capture on 102Pd, Qϵϵ(102Pd), is determined as the atomic mass difference between 102Pd and 102Ru. A precise measurement of the Qϵϵ(102Pd) at the SHIPTRAP Penning trap showed a more than 10σ deviation to the adopted Atomic Mass Evaluation (AME) value. The reliability of the SHIPTRAP measurement was challenged because the AME value was based on numerous experiments including β and electron capture decays and very precise (n, γ) data, all agreeing with each other. High yield neutron generator based on a high-current gasdynamic electron cyclotron resonance ion source

In present paper, an approach for high yield compact D-D neutron generator based on a high current gasdynamic electron cyclotron resonance ion source is suggested. Results on dense pulsed deuteron beam production with current up to 500 mA and current density up to 750 mA/cm2 are demonstrated. Neutron yield from D2O and TiD2 targets was measured in case of its bombardment by pulsed 300 mA Dþ beam with 45 keV energy. Neutron yield density at target surface of 109 s 1 cm2 was detected with a system of two 3 He proportional counters. The optical absorption spectra of atomistic model structures for experimentally isolated all-gold Au144(SR)60 and intermetallic Au84Ag60(SR)60 clusters are systematically analyzed from linear-response time-dependent density functional theory (LR-TDDFT) and time-dependent density functional perturbation theory (TD-DFPT) calculations. The computed spectra, utilizing the atomistic model for Au144(SR)60 published by us in 2009, reproduce closely the experimental observations for corresponding isolated compounds, reported previously by Kumara and Dass in 2011. Dysbaric accidents are usually referred to compressed air-supplied diving. Nonetheless, some cases of decompression illness are known to have occurred among breath-hold (BH) divers also, and they are reported in the medical literature. A male BH diver (57 years old), underwater fishing champion, presented neurological disorders as dizziness, sensory numbness, blurred vision, and left frontoparietal pain after many dives to a 30–35 meters sea water depth with short surface intervals. Acid–base properties of functionalised tripodal polyamines and their interaction with nucleotides and nucleic acids

Novel, highly positively charged tripodal polyamines with appended heterocyclic moieties revealed an intriguing panel of protonation species within the biologically relevant range. Studied compounds bind nucleotide monophosphates by mostly electrostatic interactions but only the imidazole analogue showed selectivity toward UMP in respect to other nucleotides. Strong binding of all the studied compounds to both ds-DNA and ds-RNA is to some extent selective toward the latter, showing rather rare RNA over DNA preference.
An experimental and theoretical study of a heptacoordinated tungsten(VI) complex of a noninnocent phenylenediamine bis(phenolate) ligand

Abstract [W(N2O2)(HN2O2)] (H4N2O2 = N,N′-bis(3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,2-phenylenediamine) with a noninnocent ligand was formed by reaction of the alkoxide precursor [W(eg)3] (eg = the 1,2-ethanediolate dianion) with two equivalents of ligand. The phenol groups on one of the ligands are completely deprotonated and the ligand coordinates in a tetradentate fashion, whereas the other ligand is tridentate with one phenol having an intact OH group. The molecular structure, magnetic measurements, EPR spectroscopy, and density functional theory calculations indicate that the complex is a stable radical with the odd electron situated on the tridentate amidophenoxide ligand.
