This paper offers a conceptual framework on test design from the perspective of social semiotics. Items are defined as arrangements of features intended to represent information, convey meaning, and capture information on the examinees’ knowledge or skills on a given content. The conceptual framework offers a typology of semiotic resources used to create items and discusses item representational complexity—the multiple ways in which the semiotic resources of an item are related to each other—and item semiotic alignment—the extent to which examinees share cultural experience encoded by items. Abstract Post-Greimassian semiotics has worked toward a return to phenomenology, with the aim of studying the sensorial dimension and the body. Most of this research, however, has all but forgotten Greimas’s last book, De imperfection (1987), in which he proposes an original version of Merleau-Ponty’s philosophy with the notion of the aesthetic grasp. I propose to reconsider this almost abandoned notion, both from a theoretical point of view (a new version of the catharsis of philosophical aesthetics) and from the vantage of textual descriptions (the short story “The Naked Bosom” by Italo Calvino and the movie Ratatouille).

Els encapsuladors en anglès – una síntesi personal Aquest treball ofereix una retrospectiva personal sobre la noció i el fenomen discursiu de shell noun (o encapsulador, literalment nom closca). Després d’una breu introducció, discutirem alguns aspectes terminològics i metodològics i efectuarem algunes remarques sobre la classificació dels usos dels encapsuladors. Finalment, aportarem una revisió d’investigacions recents sobre l’origen i el desenvolupament diacrònic dels encapsuladors i de les construccions encapsuladores, i discutirem una sèrie de noves aportacions en l’estudi de l’encapsulació des de la introducció del concepte en els anys 90 del segle passat.

Study of J/ψ Production in Jets

The production of $J/\psi$ mesons in jets is studied in the forward region of proton-proton collisions using data collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The fraction of the jet transverse momentum carried by the $J/\psi$ meson, $z \equiv p_{\rm T}(J/\psi)/p_{\rm T}({\rm jet})$, is measured using jets with $p_{\rm T}({\rm jet}) > 20$ GeV in the pseudorapidity range $2.5 < \eta({\rm jet}) < 4.0$. The observed $z$ distribution for $J/\psi$ mesons produced in $b$-hadron decays is consistent with expectations. Frames for Hilbert spaces are interesting for mathematicians but also important for applications in, e.g., signal analysis and physics. In both mathematics and physics, it is natural to consider a full scale of spaces, and not only a single one. In this paper, we study how certain frame-related properties of a certain sequence in one of the spaces, such as completeness or the property of being a (semi-) frame, propagate to the other ones in a scale of Hilbert spaces. En la última década, las perovskitas de haluro de plomo, así como otros haluros de metales múltiples, incluidas las alternativas sin plomo, han demostrado ser materiales prometedores para su uso en optoelectrónica. Por lo tanto, se buscan activamente nuevas formas de producir semiconductores de alta pureza a gran escala. Por tanto, el objetivo principal de esta tesis doctoral es el desarrollo de perovskitas y semiconductores relacionados utilizando métodos sin disolventes.
