Interactions between financial stress and economic activity for the U.S.: A time- and frequency-varying analysis using wavelets

Abstract This paper examines the interactions between the main U.S. financial stress indices and several measures of economic activity in the time–frequency domain using a number of continuous cross-wavelet tools, including the usual wavelet squared coherence and phase difference as well as two new summary wavelet-based measures. The empirical results show that the relationship between financial stress and the U.S. real economy varies considerably over time and depending on the time horizon considered. Financial distress and real economic activity in Lithuania: a Granger causality test based on mixed-frequency VAR

In this paper, we extend the monthly financial stress index for Lithuania, computed by the European Central Bank, to a daily frequency and we also include banking sector stress among its constituents, beyond bond, equity and foreign exchange markets. We investigate the causal relationship between the daily financial stress index and monthly industrial production growth, using a Granger causality test applied to a mixed-frequency VAR. Abstract We describe the synthesis and biological activity of a new class of 1,3-diaryltriazenes, namely 4-nitro-substituted 1,3-diaryltriazenes. Structure–activity relationship analysis reveals that 1,3-diaryltriazenes can be modified from inactive to highly cytotoxic compounds by the introduction of two nitro groups at the para positions of benzene rings and two additional electron-withdrawing groups (bromo, chloro, trifluoromethyl or fluoro substituents) at their ortho position. Work-related stress of elementary school principals in Finland: Coping strategies and support

The present study aimed to investigate elementary school principals’ self-reported causes of work-related stress, their coping strategies to deal with stress and the support they need for their leadership. Seventy-six principals filled in the questionnaire, which included open-ended questions. Qualitative content analysis was used to analyse the data. The results showed that the main sources of stress were workload, interpersonal conflicts, a lack of resources and internal pressures. Moreover, principals used emotion-focused, problem-focused and social coping to deal with stress. Expression of a glucocorticoid receptor (D1GR1) in several tissues of the teleost fish Dicentrarchus labrax

Since glucocorticoids have a role in maintaining the homeostatic status in fish, in the present paper mRNA expression (in situ hybridization) and tissue immunohistochemical localization of a glucocorticoid receptor (DlGR1) in several Dicentrarchus labrax organs are reported. Riboprobe and specific antibodies were prepared by using the DlGR1 that has been previously cloned and sequenced from peritoneal cavity leukocytes. Both mRNA and receptor were identified in head kidney, spleen, gills, intestine, heart and liver tissues. The functional roles of DlGR1 localization are discussed.

Šī darba mērķis bija noskaidrot, vai pastāv saistības starp pēc traumas stresa simptomu izpausmēm un stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģiju izvēli, Neatliekamās medicīniskās palīdzības mediķu un Pašvaldības policistu grupās kā arī, vai pastāv atšķirības starp grupu korelāciju saistībām. Pētījumā, kopumā, piedalījās N = 74 operatīvās reaģēšanas dienestu darbinieki, kuri atrodas aktīvajā dienestā ar minimālo darba stāžu, 1 gads. Respondentu grupās tika anketēti n = 47 Neatliekamās medicīniskās palīdzības mediķi un n = 27 Pašvaldības policisti.
