La enfermedad de Alzheimer (EA) no tiene una etiología perfectamente definida. Una de las teorías que se barajan como causa de la EA es la del péptido β-amiloide (βA). Esta molécula es neurotóxica y es capaz de producir estrés oxidativo. Se forma principalmente en el cerebro y se acumula formando placas extracelulares. Se ha sugerido que el βA es el eje principal de la EA, y por tanto que a partir de esta molécula se desencadenan todos los procesos asociados a la EA, lo que se ha llamado la cascada amiloidea. Sprint and endurance training in relation to redox and inflammatory status and biomarkers of aging in master athletes

Purpose Studies have shown a positive influence of intense athletic training on several biomarkers of aging, but it remains unclear whether this influence is dependent of exercise-training-mode. This study compared redox balance, cytokine levels and biomarkers of aging between master sprinters and endurance athletes, as well as in young and middle-aged individuals as controls. A diet rich in saturated fatty acids (FAs) has been correlated with metabolic dysfunction and ROS increase in the adipose tissue of obese subjects. Thus, reducing hypertrophy and oxidative stress in adipose tissue can represent a strategy to counteract obesity and obesity-related diseases. In this context, the present study showed how the peel and seed extracts of mango (Mangifera indica L.) reduced lipotoxicity induced by high doses of sodium palmitate (PA) in differentiated 3T3-L1 adipocytes. O. oeni is responsible for wine malolactic fermentation. As any organism, O. oeni tries to adapt its physiology to environmental fluctuations by producing Hsp proteins encoded by the hsp genes. In O. oeni, CtsR is currently the only regulator of hsp genes. As an alternative to the lack of genetic tool, with the goal of understanding the mechanisms of O. oeni stress response, we developed a new expression vector, the pSIPSYN, to produce antisense RNA targeting of hsp18 mRNA.
