This essay focuses on a recent development in Italian family law with respect to stepchild adoption in cases involving same-sex couples. Resorting to arguments of both the continuity of the affective relationship and the best interests of the child, courts have been willing to permit adoptions in these cases under Article 44 of L. 184/1983 (“Adoption Act”), which provides for “adoption in particular cases” (“APC”). Inermitētā badošanās pēdējā desmitgadē kļūst arvien populārāka un tiek pielietota kā viena no metodēm ķermeņa svara regulācijā. Ķermeņa svara un tauku masas regulācijas pasākumi gan pasaulē, gan Latvijā kļūst arvien aktuālāki, jo palielinās to cilvēku skaits, kas cieš no pārmērīgas tauku masas uzkrāšanās un ar to saistītām kardio-metabolajām un skeleta saslimšanām. Darba mērķis bija novērtēt, kura no metodēm - uztura režīma korekcija, mērķtiecīgi, regulāri fiziski vingrinājumi vai abu iepriekšējo metožu apvienošana, rada izteiktākas labvēlīgās izmaiņas ķermeņa audu kompozīcijā. Abstract. Polyphenols are potent antioxidants found in extra virgin olive oil (EVOO); antioxidants have been shown to reverse age- and disease-related learning and memory deficits. We examined the effects of EVOO on learning and memory in SAMP8 mice, an age-related learning/memory impairment model associated with increased amyloid- protein and brain oxidative damage. We administered EVOO, coconut oil, or butter to 11 month old SAMP8 mice for 6 weeks. Mice were tested in T-maze foot shock avoidance and one-trial novel object recognition with a 24 h delay. Different sample treatment approaches for the analysis of T-2 and HT-2 toxins from oats-based media.

A LC-DAD method is proposed for the determination of the T-2 and HT-2 toxins in cultures of Fusarium langsethiae in oat-based and other in vitro media. Test media consisted of freshly prepared milled oats to which T-2 and HT-2 toxin stock solutions were added. Different mixtures of extraction solvent (acetonitrile:water and methanol water), extraction times (30', 60' or 90') and drying methods were investigated. Context. Asymmetries in atomic hydrogen (HI) in galaxies are often caused by the interaction with close companions, making isolated galaxies an ideal framework to study secular evolution. The AMIGA project has demonstrated that isolated galaxies show the lowest level of asymmetry in their HI integrated profiles compared to even field galaxies, yet some present significant asymmetries. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a gas pollutant discharged in air from a large number of natural and anthropogenic sources. Its peculiar rotten-egg smell, causing odor nuisance to neighboring communities, is detectable at concentrations between 0.7 and 42 μg/m3 (Schiffman & Williams, 2005). High H2S concentrations could cause eye irritation, damage to the upper respiratory apparatus and loss of smell.
