In August 1940 the magazine ‘Domus’, in a special issue dedicated to the “casa al mare”, publishes the project of the “Casa sul mare di Sicilia” by Lina Bo Bardi and Carlo Pagani. It is one of the first projects of Lina Bo, an utopian project whose representations indicate a way of proceedings that coagulates theory and imagination conceived as indissoluble relationship of “doing”. Add to the ‘unconventional’ drawings of the project, plans, perspectives and perspective section, indicating a very personal way in using of graphic language, we can find a synthesis’ drawing that underlines how the representation is intended both as an extension of the mind, and as order structure of a speech. È una vasta area urbana, che si estende lungo la Via Maqueda, Via Roma, Corso Vittorio Emanuele e Via Bandiera, che storicamente faceva parte di un unico sistema urbano che cuciva il mercato del Capo con il Mercato della Vucciria. Le operazioni urbanistiche del secolo scorso (il taglio di via Roma, il il progetto di riorganizzazione dell'intero rione, la costruzione della Galleria delle Vittorie) hanno cancellato quasi definitivamente sia le sue presenza architettoniche che l'impianto del suo tessuto viario. Particle suspension in liquids is a unit operation commonly encountered in the process industry. Although it is usually carried out in baffled stirred tanks, there are some specific applications where the presence of baffles may be undesirable. In the present work solid-liquid suspensions are investigated in a radially stirred unbaffled tank provided with a top cover. The minimum impeller speed at which all solid particles get suspended (Njs) and the relevant power requirements (Pjs) are assessed. Monotone Concave Operators: An application to the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the Bellman equation

We propose a new approach to the issue of existence and uniqueness of solutions to the Bellman equation, exploiting an emerging class of methods, called monotone map methods, pioneered in the work of Krasnosel’skii (1964) and Krasnosel’skii-Zabreiko (1984). The approach is technically simple and intuitive. It is derived from geometric ideas related to the study of fixed points for monotone concave operators defined on partially order spaces.
L2-L1 Translation Priming Effects in a Lexical Decision Task: Evidence From Low Proficient Korean-English Bilinguals

One of the key issues in bilingual lexical representation is whether L1 processing is facilitated by L2 words. In this study, we conducted two experiments using the masked priming paradigm to examine how L2-L1 translation priming effects emerge when unbalanced, low proficiency, Korean-English bilinguals performed a lexical decision task. In Experiment 1, we used a 150 ms SOA (50 ms prime duration followed by a blank interval of 100 ms) and found a significant L2-L1 translation priming effect. In contrast, in Experiment 2, we used a 60 ms SOA (50 ms prime duration followed by a blank interval of 10 ms) and found a null effect of L2-L1 translation priming. The availability of experimental information on solid distribution inside stirred tanks is a topic of great importance in several industrial applications. The measurement of solid particle distribution in turbulent multiphase flow is not simple and the development of suitable measurement techniques is still in progress. In this work a novel non-intrusive technique for measuring particle concentration fields in solid-liquid systems is employed. The technique makes use of a laser sheet, a high sensitivity digital camera for image acquisition and a Matlab procedure for post-processing the acquired images.
