Based on some literary extracts (autobiographical prose and poetry) of the Valencian writer Josep Piera, the relationship between the experience of the journey and the writing that comes along as a result of it is analyzed. Three key concepts are discussed : the journey, the Mediterranean and literature. As we will see, the Mediterranean is understood here as a close and familiar world : a mythical, historical, cultural and vital geographical space. The places visited (Greece, Naples, Sicily, etc.) interact and produce a dialogue with the geographical space and the notion of human time.
Apprentissage de modalités auxiliaires pour la localisation basée vision

In this paper we present a new training with side modality framework to enhance image-based localization. In order to learn side modality information, we train a fully convo-lutional decoder network that transfers meaningful information from one modality to another. We validate our approach on a challenging urban dataset. Experiments show that our system is able to enhance a purely image-based system by properly learning appearance of a side modality. Compared to state-of-the-art methods, the proposed network is lighter and faster to train, while producing comparable results.

The article discusses the theoretical system that supports design themes and processes of recycling large urban road infrastructures, referring to an international research that frames them among the sustainable regeneration processes of the contemporary city, and further evoking the project for the transformation of Palermo's ring road that has been elaborated within this research. Witnesses of past urban seasons, these infrastructures are marked by a peculiar morphology that deserves to be maintained, while they must emancipate themselves from asphalt and adapt to new urban mobilities.
