The intense development of the «Verlagssystem» in the XVIII century silk industry in Valencia showed the difficulties of the traditional craftsmen to keep their economic independence. In order to fighy against it, the craftsmen adopted several initiatives, which dealt with the constitution of a share-holding company, as much as with the creation of a communal store to favour the suppley of raw materials to the factories. The most important project was the constitution of the «Compañía de Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados» in 1772. Resumen: El presente trabajo pretende rescatar del olvido una de los conventos dominicanos más desconocidos del ámbito valenciano. En concreto, el de Corpus Christi de la localidad de Carcaixent, en la ribera del rio Xúquer. Fundación tardobarroca ésta, erigida en 1654, objeto ya en el siglo XVIII del interés histórico de uno de sus primeros confesores. Hablamos de fray José Agramunt, autor del inédito Parayso de Dios. In the Valencian Seigniories of the House of Medinaceli, the expulsion of the Moorish had its negative effects, but not catastrophic. The repopulation impelled the concentration process of the property of the land and supposed a reorganization of the lordly regime that permitted be adapted better to the inflationary movements. The emphiteutic establishments of the properties that belongs to the Moorish originated rural communities quite homogeneous, thought gradually their internal differentiation was increased. Until the middle of XVIIIth century they were constituting typical examples of agrarian societies with a scarce degree of social mobility.

In this essay we address one of the most important poetic subgenres in the tradition of Carmelite women: the works composed for ceremonies of vestition and solemn profession in which the nuns left behind his mundane life and opened a new life as the wife of Jesus. First of all, we provide a general overview of the customs and functions of the poetry in the Discalced Carmelites, which has been already analysed in the context of the Hispanic literature, but rarely from the perspective of the Catalan area.
