Many-body Green's function theory of electrons and nuclei beyond the Born-Oppenheimer approximation

The method of many-body Green's functions is developed for arbitrary systems of electrons and nuclei starting from the full (beyond Born-Oppenheimer) Hamiltonian of Coulomb interactions and kinetic energies. The theory presented here resolves the problems arising from the translational and rotational invariance of this Hamiltonian that afflict the existing many-body Green's function theories. We derive a coupled set of exact equations for the electronic and nuclear Green's functions and provide a systematic way to approximately compute the properties of arbitrary many-body systems of electrons and nuclei beyond the Born-Oppenheimer approximation. Borrelia species are predominantly responsible for the most common form of Tick-borne diseases (TBD) which is Lyme borreliosis (LB). Episodes of Lyme arthritis (LA) is a hallmark symptom of LB patients. LA is an atypical form of reactive arthritis (ReA) that is a sub-type of Spondyloarthritis (SpA). Coinfections such as Ehrlichia chaffeensis accompany primary Borrelia species during the later stages of LB infection to induce severe symptoms. Winnicott, the author argues that the body is perceived as a sign of something when it is actually an effect of the signifier, and that the novel's excess makes the invisible workings of what Michel Foucault called “power” extremely visible. ABSTRACT A field-collected colony of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella , had 31-fold resistance to Cry1C protoxin of Bacillus thuringiensis . After 24 generations of selection with Cry1C protoxin and transgenic broccoli expressing a Cry1C protein, the resistance that developed was high enough that neonates of the resistant strain could complete their entire life cycle on transgenic broccoli expressing high levels of Cry1C. After 26 generations of selection, the resistance ratios of this strain to Cry1C protoxin were 12,400- and 63,100-fold, respectively, for the neonates and second instars by a leaf dip assay. Lymph node cells from TNCB-immune BALB/c mice fail to produce IFN-gamma when exposed to antigen in vitro. Conversely, lymph node cells of irradiated (550 rads) BALB/c mice produce IFN-gamma. Transfer experiments show that normal BALB/c mice contain cells which suppress IFN-gamma production. These downregulatory cells are CD4(+)alpha beta(+)and rearrange the invariant V alpha 14-J alpha 281 T cell receptor alpha chain, thus belonging to the NK T cell subset. Downregulatory cells probably act by producing IL-4 as their effect is blocked by mAb to IL-4.

We determined the presence of Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinases (CaMKs), a family of multifunctional proteins engaged in Ca(2+)-linked signaling, in carotid body chemoreceptor cells which are critical for the hypoxia-sensing. Carotid bodies were dissected from anesthetized normoxic adult Wistar rats and were double stained for individual CaMKs and for tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), a marker of chemoreceptor cells. Immunofluorescence was examined by confocal laser scanning microscopy. We found that CaMKI and CaMKII were expressed in chemoreceptor cells, but their distribution and intensity varied.
