Application of the trans-contextual model to predict change in leisure time physical activity

Objective: This study tested effects of changes in the psychological constructs of the trans-contextual model (TCM) on changes in adolescents' outside of school moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (PA) measured using self-report and accelerometer-based device. Design: A three-wave longitudinal design was used. High school students (N = 331) completed measures of all the TCM constructs at Time1 and at Time2, five weeks apart. The innovative - creative potential of an organization is determined by the creative capacity of its members, by its managerial team competency and by certain mechanisms to sustain implementation of new ideas, as well as their transformation in competitive products and services. From the premise that knowledge-based modern organization is permanently connected to changes of business environment, the paper aims to underline the essential role of creativity and innovation in projecting and implementing organizational change programmes. Also, the paper presents possible directions of action recommended to nowadays organizations for the transition to knowledge-based organization stage.

KLUM@GTAP: Introducing biophysical aspects of land-use decisions into a general equilibrium model: A coupling experiment

In this paper the global agricultural land use model KLUM is coupled to an extended version of the computable general equilibrium model (CGE) GTAP in order to consistently assess the integrated impacts of climate change on global cropland allocation and its implication for economic development. The methodology is innovative as it introduces dynamic economic land-use decisions based also on the biophysical aspects of land into a state-of-the-art CGE; it further allows the projection of resulting changes in cropland patterns on a spatially more explicit level. As energy resources become scarce and pollution increases, fundamental and often irreversible changes are affecting our global ecosystem, and these changes are already having an influence on countries’ potential for economic growth and development. In this article we examine the principal environmental problems worldwide and how such problems are affected by inequality between countries. In Spain’s case, the basic problems are greenhouse gas emissions, problems relating to water management and issues concerning territory and biodiversity. We also call for the application of economic funding mechanisms to implement environmental policies.

This article puts forward an explanation of climate change within the context of global change. Climate change can be seen as the spearhead; as a manifestation of the increasing unsustainability of planet Earth. Up with ecology, down with economy? : The consolidation of the idea of climate change mitigation in the global public sphere

Building on theories of valuation and evaluation, we develop an analytical framework that outlines six elements of the process of consolidation of an idea in the public sphere. We then use the framework to analyse the process of consolidation of the idea of climate change mitigation between 1997 and 2013, focusing on the interplay between ecological and economic evaluations.
