Productivity dynamics and the productivity trap: problems and solutions in Latvia

By analysing changes in productivity and labour costs in Latvia from 2013 till 2017, we can see that growth of labour costs exceeds the growth of productivity by more than 2 times in both, tradable sector and total economy. Slow growth in productivity compared with the labour and other production expenses lead to an increase in the price of final goods and services, which negatively corresponds with producers’ competitiveness in both internal and external market. Furthermore, this leads to a drop-in consumption of domestic production and inefficient production facility usage, resulting in declining economic growth rates. Celem artykułu jest określenie zmian struktury oraz tempa wzrostu produkcji żywca rzeźnego w województwach Polski w latach 2004–2014 według gatunków, z zastosowaniem klasycznej metody przesunięć udziałów. Ponadto zidentyfikowano i oszacowano udział czynników strukturalnych oraz regionalnych w wielkości efektu globalnego (produkcji żywca rzeźnego w Polsce ogółem) w przekroju województw. The data show the quantitative annual, winter and summer precipitation reconstructions (mm/yr) from southern Iberian Peninsula for the last ~200,000 years (Camuera et al., 2022), based on the previously published fossil pollen data from the Padul-15-05 lake sediment record (Ramos-Román et al., 2018a, b; Camuera et al., 2019, 2021). The Padul-15-05 record, located in southern Spain (37º00'39''N, 3º36'14''W, 726 masl), was retrieved during summer 2015 from the current edge of the lake using a Rolatec RL-48-L hydraulic percussion coring machine. Family members bereaved by their loved ones’ suicidal death normally undergo a complicated and lengthy bereavement process. In this qualitative case study, we explored longitudinal changes in the suicide bereavement process by applying assimilation analysis, based on the Assimilation Model (AM) and the Assimilation of Problematic Experiences Scale (APES), to longitudinal interview data collected from two Chinese suicide-bereaved individuals within the first 18 months after their loss. The subject of the reflections set out in this article are the issues relating to the subjectivity of a teacher and his competence in the face of civilizing changes. As the title suggests, the study deals with the diversified division of competences both of contemporary man and the teacher. Professional training of educators should include both a grounding in theory and assertions on the subject of man’s development, processes of “finding one’s place” naturally in the world, process educating man with a defined goal (education and upbringing) and processes of his socialization (collectivisation - full time employment - nationalization - politicization - globalization).
