Abstract The spectroscopic characterization of cis - and trans -[PtCl 2 (NCR) 2 ] (R = CH 3 , Ph, CH 2 Ph) was reported in solid state and solution phase. Moreover, the X-ray structures of cis -[PtCl 2 (NCCH 3 ) 2 ], cis - and trans -[PtCl 2 (NCPh) 2 ] were redetermined at low temperature. FT-IR and NMR showed a blue-shift and a slight shielding of the νCN and δ ( 13 C CN ) values, respectively, in a counterintuitive way with respect to the well known improved reactivity towards nucleophiles of nitriles ligands coordinated to platinum(II), when compared to their free forms. The convolution of tip shape on sample topography can introduce significant inaccuracy in an AFM image, when the tip radius is comparable to the typical dimension of the sample features to be observed. The blind estimation method allows one to obtain information on the AFM tip through an unknown characterizer sample and thus to perform the deconvolution of the tip shape from an image. An epidemiological survey carried at the Herb Garden of Casola Valsenio (Emilia Romagna region; Northern Italy) from 2006 to 2009 resulted in finding Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) as the infectious agent of several ornamental, medicinal and aromatic plants. All CMV-infected plant species showed leaf symptoms followed, in some cases, by flower colour-breaking and stunting. Genetic analysis consisted in the characterization of movement protein gene of each CMV-isolate by single strand polymorphism analysis and sequencing. The established concept for the protection of the biosphere from high-level nuclear wastes consists in the use of multi-barrier systems in deep geological repository, for which clayey geomaterials are key elements. Tree nuts have become popular snacks due to their attributed benefits in the health state. Nevertheless, their susceptibility to fungal contamination lead to the occurrence of potentially dangerous mycotoxins. Hence, the aim of this work was to evaluate the presence of mycotoxins in ready-to-eat almonds, walnuts, and pistachios from Italian markets. The most relevant mycotoxin found in almonds was α-zearalanol in 18% of samples (n = 17) ranging from 3.70 to 4.54 µg/kg. Walnut samples showed frequent contamination with alternariol, present in 53% of samples (n = 22) at levels from 0.29 to 1.65 µg/kg. Characterization of multifunction meters based on integrated devices in the presence of harmonic distortion

This paper is focused on the problem of the metrological characterization of multifunction static meters based on integrated devices, in both reference and actual operating conditions. The influence of the measurement transducers on the performance of such meters is also discussed. The analysis is supported by some experimental tests, which were carried out on a meter based on a commercial integrated device, both in the absence and in the presence of the measurement transducers.
Fiber-based measurement of temporal intensity and phase profiles of an optical telecommunication pulse through self-phase modulation

International audience; We propose and experimentally validate an all-fiber based approach to characterize the phase and intensity profiles of optical pulses. Based on three optical spectra affected by different levels of self-phase modulation, we were able to reconstruct the temporal details of pulses typical of optical telecommunications.
