summary — The modern mummies and the inner meaning of the double burial in Mediterranean cultures have long been debated. In this paper we discuss a particular “collection” of ecclesiastical bodies mummifed and displayed in a small mountain town of Sicily Gangi in the Madonie Mountains. The bodies dating back to the nineteenth century mummifed by pouring in the tradition of the time and carefully dressed in robes are exposed in the lower foor of the Chiesa Madre in what the tradition is called “fossa dei parrini” (pit of priests). The mummies unlike other Sicilian and Mediterranean sites are accompanied by commemorative sonnet and death mask made of fnish wax. The primary interest of our study was aimed specifcally at this particular manifestation of the double burial complex which lies in the representation of the face. The work expresses an examination of the concept of death mask in antiquity and leads to the conclusion that the place for its scenic values ritualization should be designed to the ostentation and the consolidation of the image of the Church and of the his power within the small rural society.Settore BIO/08 - Antropologia

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zaznajomienie czytelnika z teologią sakramentu pokuty i pojednania w Asyryjskim Kościele Wschodu oraz z wykształconą w łonie tej wspólnoty liturgią jego celebracji zwaną „obrzędem pojednania” (taksā d-h.usāyā). Vuonna 1995 Irlannin tasavallan hallitus päätti pitää jo toistamiseen kansanäänestyksen avioeron laillistamisesta. Ensimmäistä kertaa kansanäänestys oli pidetty asian tiimoilta vuonna 1986. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przybliżenie specyfiki ewangelickiego (luterańskiego) spojrzenia na przysięgę małżeńską (ślubowanie). Tekst ten składa się z trzech zasadniczych części. Wpierw omówiono znaczenie samej przysięgi w teologii ewangelickiej. dalej skupiono się na treści ślubowania małżeńskiego podczas ewangelickiej liturgii zaślubin. In this dissertation, I study the observance of holy days among the peasantry in the early modern province of Savo, located on the eastern periphery of the Swedish kingdom (today Eastern Finland). I examine the practices, norms and meanings related to the observance of holy days both within and outside the Church, and analyse the changes and continuities in the post-reformation period.
