Identifying Resilient and Non-Resilient Labour Conditions in Europe Using Qualitative Comparative Analysis

Based on the concept of labour market resilience, this paper is aimed to determine the combination of initial conditions behind resilient and non-resilient labour markets after the financial crisis in 2008 in Europe. We start from the assumption that some initial conditions in 2007 are crucial to achieve a specific labour result when a shock appears. Chutzpadik advertising and its effectiveness: Four studies of agencies and audiences

Abstract The creation of advertisements that attract immediate attention and simultaneously provoke thoughts and stimulate ongoing discussions is challenging. Hence, advertisers increasingly use Chutzpadik advertising, which we define as “radical advertising messaging that purposefully transgresses social norms and proscribed topics”. Engagement in sports virtual brand communities

Abstract The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of sports sponsorship in virtual brand communities (VBCs) on consumers' engagement within these communities. We used a professional team in the Scotiabank National Opening Championship (Chile) as the study context and collected data from participants (N = 268) on the team's social networks. We used structural equation systems and the Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) technique to test the hypotheses. The results present five causal combinations, considering factors inherent to the team sponsor that influence engagement within a VBC. Firm survival: The role of incubators and business characteristics

This paper analyzes the impact of business incubators on firm survival. Using a configurational comparative method, namely fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA), the article also examines whether degree of business innovation, size, sector, and export activity affects firm survival. Results show that, when combined with other variables (i.e. sector, technology), business size is a sufficient condition for firm survival. Likewise, incubators alone cannot affect survival. Use of infrastructures to support innovative entrepreneurship and business growth

Abstract This research examines the relationship between growth and the use of support infrastructures for innovative entrepreneurship. The study considers three types of support infrastructure: incubators, technology centers, and universities. Employing crisp-set qualitative comparative analysis (csQCA), the study tests the existence of such relationships using empirical data from a sample ( n  = 107) of young innovative companies. Results show that combining the use of incubators, technology centers, and universities can positively affect young innovate companies' growth.
