Lasīšanas prasmju un iemaņu attīstīšana ietver vairākas lingvistikas dimensijas, tāpēc efektīvu valodas mācību materiālu izstrāde ir ļoti svarīga, lai apgūtu lasītprasmi. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai ievērojamu izdevniecību mācību materiāli atbilst lasītprasmes attīstības teorētiskajam ietvaram. Kā līdzeklis pētījuma mērķa sasniegšanai tiek izmantota B1/Intermediate līmeņa mācību materiālu uzdevumu kvalitatīvā teorētiskā pamatojuma analīze. Learning Oriented e-Assessment (e-LOA) is an ICT mediated learning process. It promotes the development of competences that are relevant to both students’ academic present and professional future. In this quasi-experimental research a pretest-posttest design with experimental and control groups is implemented. We believe that the actions of e-LOA favors further development of competences. The results show that in the experimental groups there is an improvement on the level of competence. Significant differences have been found between the pretest and posttest. Teaching competences in Secondary Education : analysis of teachers’ profiles

This paper reports some of the findings from a study that aimed to analyse the importance attributed by secondary education teachers from the province of Castellón (Spain) to teaching competencies and to establish professional profiles from their responses. The survey was based on a purposely designed questionnaire answered by a representative sample of 136 secondary teachers from Castellón, representing 23 school departments. The piano teachers from specialized music schools have been often criticized for a lack of psychological and pedagogical competences, i.e. emotional instability, proneness for engendering fear, inability to motivate pupils etc. This paper deals with the following questions: How do piano teachers self evaluate their professional competences? Will their self-assessment be the same as this of their supervisors? The theoretical framework is provided by the theory of self-efficacy and teacher self-efficacy. Can we increase children’s rights endorsement and knowledge?: A pilot study based on the reference framework of competences for democratic culture

This pilot study is the first to examine whether a novel curriculum based on the Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture (RFCDC) could increase children’s endorsement and knowledge of children’s rights. We conducted a pre-test-post-test design with an intervention and a comparison school. Pupils (n = 172) from Bulgaria, Italy, Norway, Romania, and Spain attended schools in which the curriculum was taught, whereas pupils in the comparison group (n = 120) attended schools in the same city where the curriculum was not taught.
