In the present study, the chemical composition of the essential oils from flowers and leaves of Elaeoselinum asclepium(L.) Bertol subsp. meoides(Desf.) Fiori collected in Central Sicily was evaluated by GC and GC-MS. The main volatile components of the flowers were alpha-phellandrene (42.5%), terpinolene (15.7%), p-cymene (11.6%) and beta-phellandrene (10.2%), whereas the ones of the leaves were p-cymene (44.0%), alpha-pinene (13.2%), alpha-phellandrene (11.0%), beta-phellandrene (10.2%) and beta-pinene (9.2%). 1. Breve descrizione dell’oggetto di studio Il concorso del Palazzo di Giustizia di Roma si svolge in quattro fasi svolte tra il 1884 e il 1887. Il progetto per il primo concorso, del 1884, redatto dall’allora giovanissimo Ernesto Basile (Palermo 1857-1932), rivela una grande perizia progettuale che trasforma il complesso programma funzionale in un austero edificio in stile neofiorentino. Brief description of the object of study The competition of the Palace of Justice in Rome takes place in four phases between 1884 and 1887. The project for the first competition in 1884 drawn up by the then very young Ernesto Basile (Palermo 1857-1932) reveals a great deal of design expertise that transforms the complex functional program into an austere building in neo-florentine style. The original drawings of the building not realized kept in the Basile Endowment of the Department of Architecture of the University of Palermo have been the subject of preliminary study to the phases of analysis interpretation and conceptual reconstruction of the digital model. 2. Alternative measures of body composition and wage premium: New evidence from Indonesia

This paper examines the relationship between body composition and earnings in a developing country setting. We use body mass index, waist circumference and hip circumference. Exploiting the panel structure of our longitudinal survey, we find that along with BMI, waist circumference is related to higher earnings in Indonesia. peerReviewed

Abstract Protozooplankton are dominant grazers of phytoplankton and an important component of the microbial food web, as a link between pico and nanoplankton to higher trophic levels. Their fast growing rate, relative abundance, biomass and diversity are used as indicators of organic and toxic pollution. The impact of urbanisation on ecosystems and their sustainability and biodiversity have recently been much studied. Emission of Bromine and Iodine from Mt. Etna volcano

Constraining fluxes of volcanic bromine and iodine to the atmosphere is important given the significant role these species play in ozone depletion. However, very few such measurements have been made hitherto, such that global volcanic fluxes are poorly constrained. Here we extend the data set of volcanic Br and I degassing by reporting the first measurements of bromine and iodine emissions from Mount Etna. Volcanic eruptions are often preceded by precursory increases in the volcanic carbon dioxide (CO2) flux. Unfortunately, the traditional techniques used to measure volcanic CO2 require near-vent, in situ plume measurements that are potentially hazardous for operators and expose instruments to extreme conditions. Benth. is widely used in herbal medicine, and it is sold in herbalist shops for its sedative and antispasmodic properties.
