Clinicians in molecular tumor boards (MTB) are confronted with a growing amount of genetic high-throughput sequencing data. Today, at German university hospitals, these data are usually handled in complex spreadsheets from which clinicians have to obtain the necessary information. The aim of this work was to gather a comprehensive list of requirements to be met by cBioPortal to support processes in MTBs according to clinical needs. The problem of learning unions of certain pattern languages from positive examples is considered. We restrict to the regular patterns, i.e., patterns where each variable symbol can appear only once, and to the substring patterns, which is a subclass of regular patterns of the type xαy, where x and y are variables and α is a string of constant symbols. We present an algorithm that, given a set of strings, finds a good collection of patterns covering this set. Mineral profiles of legumes and fruits through partial least squares energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence

Abstarct Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (ED-XRF) has been employed for the determination of mineral elements in 15 varieties of legumes and 14 cherry samples. ED-XRF signals directly obtained from pulverized samples were modelized by partial least squares (PLS) using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) of a selected number of samples, after microwave assisted acid digestion, as reference data. Models were built to predict the concentration of Al, Ca, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, P, Sr and Zn. Average concentrations predicted were 6, 930, 7, 40, 6400, 990, 2100, 4 and 15 μg g−1 for Al, Ca, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, P, Sr and Zn, respectively with relative errors from 7 till 26%. …

Abstract A burgeoning body of literature suggests that poor childhood health leads to adverse health outcomes, lower educational attainment and weaker labour market outcomes in adulthood.
